[Resolved] ๐ Kaspersky Password Manager extension
-
@gwen-dragon Indeed, I sadly share your feeling...
-
I've been patient. But none of the Kaspersky apps with browser support works with Vivaldi any longer, even though they work just fine with Chrome. The last straw was the Password Manager which stopped working some time ago, and no update to the extension seems to be forthcoming. So for now, I bid you adieu.

@witblitz Hello Witblitz,
did you at least upvote this feature request to give more visibility to it? It's by upvoting such topics that the developers of Vivaldi might consider it. Otherwise, nothing will happen.
In addition to that, it's not really clear who is responsible for it (Kaspersky or Vivaldi) because it was due to a KPM update that it stopped working with Vivaldi. -
@ornorm Ok I have. But the effort seems futile. I have been using Kaspersky products since 1997. Chromium based browsers these days are a dime a dozen. I'd rather stick to better security than look pretty.
-
@witblitz For sure, I understand your feeling. I also use Kaspersky products since years and it's quite disappointing not being able to use them with Vivaldi.
However, I really regret that Kaspersky indirectly imposes to its users to stick with the main browsers being Firefox, Edge and Chrome.
It wasn't the case before because it worked perfectly with Vivaldi in the past so, for me, Kaspersky is depreciating their user experience with their last update. -
Kaspersky Support claims the fault is fixed in their 19 version. Well I am running 19.0.-1088b no change same fault.
-
@mogle Same for me.

@Ornorm You might be interested in Myki password manager

@Artex Thanks for the tip.
-
I also need kpm support in vivaldi, again.
-
@Gwen-Dragon True... Very few.
I think that what zendo9 states in the other poll might be true :
@zendo9 said in Poll for Kaspersky users: Need of Kaspersky Protection extension in Vivaldi:I do somewhat believe that the sample of Vivaldi users on this forum isn't very representative of the real number of people who have this issue, would love to get it fixed and use Vivaldi. I think that for majority of KPW users this is a big enough of an issue, to not make a switch to Vivaldi at all. I know I had to weigh the pros quite a lot before deciding to transfer majority of my activities to Vivaldi, without the support of KPW.
-
Yes, I do need the extension to work. But I'm deeply disappointed at Kaspersky's answers, maybe I won't use their products anymore.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Unfortunately, they just don't care. They answered they only support Edge, Firefox and Chrome...
-
@Gwen-Dragon That's really kind of you. Fingers crossed!

Im new to the forum but i like both vivaldi and kaspersky password manager and i am feed up of having to find work arounds so i can use both it just qa shame we cant get the two to work together after all this time. and i personally think there a lot of Vivaldi users or potential users that use kaspersky free or premium AV etc and the replys and votes on this subject are not representitive of the number of people who want it, i bet like me there have been kaspersky users feed up with edge,chrome etc and come to Vivaldi only to find that there kaspersky isnt supported and just gone to another browser or back to chrome etc and thats a shame as vivaldi offers a lot

Kasperski may be a good password manager, but with the superb behavior that this company has in front of the user, it does not seem like a trusted product and at least I would have changed to another instead of insisting, there are plenty of good alternatives.

It wasn't the case before but now, it seems not only Chromium based browsers are affected by the bug but even Chrome itself.
All recent comments on the extension page (in different languages) relate the same issue... (example below) -
Folks,
It sounds like I am one of the few users who have not given up. Please fix the interface between Vivaldi and Kaspersky Passport Manager.I just checked Chrome, version 81.04044.122 (Official Build) (64-bit). The Kaspersky Passport Manager extension works well with that browser. It that is the case, why do I still get the bug (unable to authenticate) the master password is not accepted in the extension.
Yes, I am stubborn. I got no plans the move away from Kaspersky or Vivaldi. On the other hand, I am getting really tired of this bug.

Goooooooood neeeeeews!
Today, my Kaspersky Password Manager has been automatically updated (version 9.0.2.14151 (n) ) and.... miracle! It works now on Vivaldi (both Stable and Snapshot)!!!!!! -
@Gwen-Dragon Yes, still working for me with version 9.0.2.14151 (n) on 3.5.2115.87 Stable and on 3.6.2165.22 Snapshot.
