[Resolved] 🔑 Kaspersky Password Manager extension
-
EDIT (16/12/2020) : Last version of KPM (version 9.0.2.14151 (n)) solves the problem!
Since the last update of Kaspersky Password Manager (KPM 9.0.1.447), the KPM extension doesn't work anymore in Vivaldi.
Kaspersky seems not keen to fix the issue because they state they don't support Vivaldi...
To make a long story short, you can find details :
here (Vivaldi forum)
and here (Kaspersky forumThis poll is related to bug VB-40630.
The aim of this poll is to have an idea of the number of Vivaldi users who might be concerned by this issue.
Therefore, if you are one of those KPM users, please upvote this poll.
If you are looking for Kaspersky Protection extension issue, please see the dedicated poll

@ornorm Linking this poll in the kaspersky forum might be a also helpful in case somebody is checking their forum more frequently than the vivaldi forum.

@zaibon Will do immediately. Thank you for the suggestion.

@ornorm need kpm support in vivaldi

@vijei If you do, please do not hesitate to upvote the original post (above) to give more visibility to this request. It is the purpose of this thread.

@ornorm said in Poll for Kaspersky users: Need of
Kaspersky Password Manager extension in Vivaldi:
here (Vivaldi forum)
Given the seeming lack of motivation to fix the issue and/or support Vivaldi on Kaspersky's end and the company's alleged Kremlin and/or FSB ties, seems like there are at least two, maybe three, reasons to shift on over to a new product!
-
I hope someone fixes this!
-
@gwen-dragon Indeed, I sadly share your feeling...
-
I've been patient. But none of the Kaspersky apps with browser support works with Vivaldi any longer, even though they work just fine with Chrome. The last straw was the Password Manager which stopped working some time ago, and no update to the extension seems to be forthcoming. So for now, I bid you adieu.

@witblitz Hello Witblitz,
did you at least upvote this feature request to give more visibility to it? It's by upvoting such topics that the developers of Vivaldi might consider it. Otherwise, nothing will happen.
In addition to that, it's not really clear who is responsible for it (Kaspersky or Vivaldi) because it was due to a KPM update that it stopped working with Vivaldi. -
@ornorm Ok I have. But the effort seems futile. I have been using Kaspersky products since 1997. Chromium based browsers these days are a dime a dozen. I'd rather stick to better security than look pretty.
-
@witblitz For sure, I understand your feeling. I also use Kaspersky products since years and it's quite disappointing not being able to use them with Vivaldi.
However, I really regret that Kaspersky indirectly imposes to its users to stick with the main browsers being Firefox, Edge and Chrome.
It wasn't the case before because it worked perfectly with Vivaldi in the past so, for me, Kaspersky is depreciating their user experience with their last update. -
Kaspersky Support claims the fault is fixed in their 19 version. Well I am running 19.0.-1088b no change same fault.
-
@mogle Same for me.

@Artex Thanks for the tip.

I also need kpm support in vivaldi, again.

@Gwen-Dragon True... Very few.
I think that what zendo9 states in the other poll might be true :
@zendo9 said in Poll for Kaspersky users: Need of Kaspersky Protection extension in Vivaldi:I do somewhat believe that the sample of Vivaldi users on this forum isn't very representative of the real number of people who have this issue, would love to get it fixed and use Vivaldi. I think that for majority of KPW users this is a big enough of an issue, to not make a switch to Vivaldi at all. I know I had to weigh the pros quite a lot before deciding to transfer majority of my activities to Vivaldi, without the support of KPW.

Yes, I do need the extension to work. But I'm deeply disappointed at Kaspersky's answers, maybe I won't use their products anymore.
