Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3
-
The extensions are all visible! By clicking the mouse I have the usual menu choice (hide/show) and with the correct indication (hide for those I had visible and show for those I had hidden) but when I try to change the switch status (hide/show) nothing happens! Every extension remains visible on my address bar! Am I doing something wrong?

I can no longer play videos on twitter - "We cannot play the video in this browser. Please try a different web browser." (1.16.1221.3-1 64 bit Ubuntu 16.04)

@pesala: I think he's asking about Linux/Mac where you need some hacking to get it done.
@senja See this: https://gist.github.com/ruario/23da64c334e08e03fffc04a05bbcd567

@nutcracker Read my replies in the comments. What you can do is enable the extension toggle in
vivaldi://settings/addressbar/
, then you will be able to hide/show extension buttons again. -
-
@lonm: The problem is not the page, but the extension icon container, the toggle and its functionality. I have already fixed it with a mod. But I think this needs general fixing by Vivaldi for stable.
-
@luetage: Thanks a lot but...this is a very peculiar behavior: If I uncheck the 'Extensions toggle' in settings, then everything is OK with the visible extensions but if I want to make a hidden extension visible, I have to recheck the 'Extensions toggle' make the extension visible with the mouse and re-uncheck the 'Extensions toggle' to return to normal. I cannot see any show/hide choice in the extensions menu - there is only enable/disable and remove!
-
@nutcracker Show/hide can only be done with right mouse click on extension icon in address bar.
-
Is it intentional that double-clicking the vivaldi icon when in minimal ui mode, with the horizontal menu enabled should close the browser?
-
@senja I had a standalone install in my profile from day 1 of public release of Vivaldi. As soon as there was a split between stable/snapshot I installed the stable as the system default browser (so the other users also switched to Vivaldi) and continued with the snapshot as a test installation on the own profile.
This has always been possible!
-
@gwen-dragon Yeah, broken with unchecked extension toggle, working else. But that's the whole problem
-
-
@lonm: Well, the tooltip says "double click to close"...
-
-
@christoph142 How right you are! I completely missed the tooltip.
I can see why now: Doing the same in any other windows application will close the application on double click of its icon. However, it doesn't show the window menu (move, resize, etc.) on single-click, which is what led me to try to double click it.

Proprietary codecs not working in Linux (Fedora 28).
-
@gwen-dragon Those are built with a different chromium version and don't work.

Anyone on Linux that one does.
-
Mac users: Just wondering how Copy/Paste keyboard shortcuts are working for you in this Snapshot build. Are they still breaking... or (hopefully) now NOT breaking?
-
Opening and closing tabs feel snappier on my toaster, very nice.

I have two Vivaldi windows running on two monitors. If I go to view my order history on Serif.com from the bookmark on my Bookmarks Bar, the login page opens on both Vivaldi windows at once. This does not happen if I use the above link in my forum post.
GestureLeft to go back in the current (active) Vivaldi window, works as expected, but nothing happens on the other window.
Edit: The same thing happens with any bookmarks bar bookmark.
