Option to Clear Everything on Exit
-
Interesting, we first got this option in Vivaldi for android but we still don't have it in the desktop version
-
I'd like to have an option to delete all third-party cookies while closing the Vivaldi.
So far it can only be done to all cookies.
I think it would be very useful.
-
As per @Stardust, please provide the Android option on the desktop version. Provides quick workaround for having to select bunches of cookie options to my preference if Vivaldi can just zap everything on exit, including cookies with unique IDs for tracking. Having to do so manually is bothersome and subject to me forgetting! Would take me one step further to getting off Firefox...

@caligos it's there but for some reason Vivaldi hides it when you access the settings from their customed menu.
Solution
From the address bar type: vivaldi://settings/cookies
Then you will see a setting to delete cookies on exit.
I wonder if this is hidden because it create issue with their other functionalities.

@pmesolution
Hi, you need chrome://settings/cookies to reach the chromium settings.
It is annoying for most users, me too, it change to vivaldi:// automatically.Cheers, mib

Sorry to necro
Before I research extensions is there a way to delete everything on quit for superior privacy in 2022?
Aside, it did cross my mind to browse in private windows but I suspect half the time I will forget and end up browsing in a normal window instead
Hope to hear back
Cheers

From Tools menu > Delete Browsing Data, one can clear browsing history, downloads, cookies, storage, cache, passwords (why?), form autofill data, application cache, and site settings (clears all your exceptions for rules).

Hi @Streptococcus,
Thanks for reply - I presume you were replying to me..?
I'm aware of the "Delete browsing data" feature but it isn't a solution to my question:
[...] is there a way to delete everything on quit [...]
Anyone else?
Hope to hear back
Cheers

@ldexterldesign I use cookie autodelete which deletes all cookies on exit but allows whitelisting sites / subsites. It also has a grey list and deleting many other things besides just cookies.
-
@steveshank good one!
@admins personally, I'd like to see this (sort of) functionality in Vivaldi; perhaps as part of enhancing the cookie management, which seems to be a very hot topic judging by just the past month forum activity
I assume (external) extension functionality does find its way into Vivaldi (internal) on occasion..?:
- If true then what's the typical trajectory for making this happen (e.g. a simple feature request, referencing an extension)
- If false then what's the reasoning (e.g. if an extension already exists then it's reinventing the wheel)
Hope to hear back
Cheers

@ldexterldesign
Hi, this will not help, the request have 34 up votes in 4 1/2 Years and is not tagged as "Progress" or even as "Nice to have".
If the Chromium developers don't implement this, Vivaldi probably won't, I fear.Cheers, mib

I think you are right in assuming this will not be fixed endogenously. However, I did find an extension that provides the option of cleaning out whatever category of data --including the Downloads section-- on exit. It can be found here:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clickclean/ghgabhipcejejjmhhchfonmamedcbeod
After installing the extension, left-click the icon, select "Options" (5th row, 2nd option), pick all the options you want cleaned on exit and scroll down and put a nice checkmark before "Delete private data when Chrome closes". And you're set.

Are there any updates on this?
