An update to our Chromium engine – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.15.1125.3
-
@zapoqx: Just for a test:
If you have multiple extension buttons in the extensions bar - can you try to move the button of the LastPass extension to the leftmost position and see if it "fixes" the issue? -
Looks like document mouseout events are acting differently in this build in relation to panels.
Not being an expert on this, I can't say exactly what is different, but I know it's broken one of my userscripts. It looks as though mouseout onto a panel to the left doesn't always produce a clientX <=0 value, whereas before it did.
But if I click on a page, mouse out and then click the panel, it does (sometimes) which is strange.
I'm not sure what the official spec says should happen.
-
@quhno Sure.
-
Extension, YouTube Video Blocker is broken in this release.
-
Checker Plus for Gmail, OneNote Web Clipper extensions not working, the buttons on the opening windows can not be clicked.
Adblock Plus + LastPass usually crashes
I can not login to Vivaldi's blog, just in the forum
-
I just wanted to say that this update has fixed my issue as described here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24846/1-15-1090-3-using-vivaldi-with-servicenow
So, THANK YOU!

Not seen it mentioned earlier, but for me the mouse gesture problem (open in new tab) only occurs on Windows (10 Pro); the gestures still work fine on Linux (Mint 18.3 KDE)!
-
Lastpass no longer works correctly. The drop down menu now is off to the right of the screen under the border. Also I can't select lastpass logins from a form field.
-
The mouse gestures on the vivaldi webmail page doesnt work.

Win 8.1 x64

Wow, it looks like Vivaldi team didn't forgot on Slovenia , Nice.
Greetings from sLOVEnia -
Somehow i can't get through to page with a self-signed certificate (for instance my router or NAS on my local network). The tab only says privacy error. Sometimes i see the warning page, but the advanced option doesn't respond to a mouse click. Vivaldi snapshot on linux mint 18.3
-
@simokron Same issue with SurfingKeys on MacOS Sierra. The extension works fine on Stable 1.14.1077.55.

Same problem here on Windows 7.

@lonm: Yeah, right-click + croll to switch tabs is kinda broken after update. The behavior is too erratic to use it.

Is anyone else experiencing far higher CPU utilization with the move to Chromium 65? With previous versions, Vivaldi always used approximately 1-2% CPU while idle, but now it is using 30%! According to the Task Manager, the culprit is the browser process itself. I hope that this doesn't make its way to stable.
-
@shrinra Well, on Windows 10 using the 32-bit version of Vivaldi, my idle rate is about 1-2%. So, no, I haven't experienced your issue.
Then again, there are many factors to consider, like what tabs you have open and what content is in those tabs, what extensions and plugins you have, what operating system, etc, so maybe there's been a change with Chromium 65 that's affected your particular setup but might not affect others with different setups.
-
@gort Yep, I am aware of those things!
I am on macOS (which definitely isn't the best OS to use Vivaldi on), so it is not surprising that our experiences differ. While testing, I made sure to discard all tabs, except for the tab in the foreground with the Speed Dial on it, and I only have uBlock Origin installed on my snapshot installation. Again, the browser process was using a significantly higher amount of CPU cycles than before. Previous 1.15 snapshots using Chromium 64 were great, so perhaps it is just this build of 65 – who knows? I'll patiently wait for the next snapshot with an updated version of Chromium to test and see what happens.

@fevernova When resizing the development tool by dragging, it seems that the drag operation will not be detected if the pointer leaves the development tool area. (I think this is a bug)
For now, I think that you can resize the development tool area by dragging slowly. -
I am curious, does anyone other than me use the 'Small taskbar buttons' option in Windows? And if you do, does Vivaldi sometimes not maximize all the way, specifically when you drag Vivaldi to the top of the screen to maximize it?
