      A vertical tab panel that auto-shrinks is the reason I left Chrome for Edge, which does have its own issues, but the way tabs work is great.

      @chipsthe1st I get that.
      It's definitely a bit rough around the edges, because it's layout isn't customizable like the rest of the UI (can't remove or move the annoying cloud icon around or move the workspaces dropdown on the bottom), and there's no auto-hide option (hence why I'm here).
      But personally I really like the sidebar, it's replaced the normal tab bar I've used on Firefox by far and its helped me be a lot more productive while using a browser; I have one workplace for modding games, one for entertainment (movies and YouTube videos), one for random useful things I found around the internet, and one for reference images and ideas on a game I'm developing.

      I'm allergic for sidebars, so I completely support the o.p.

      This is the most useful feature to save screen space quickly and efficiently that is missing from Vivaldi. I have been using it at work for over a year now in MS Edge on their vertical tab bar. Great request, hope it can be implemented.

      Can’t believe this option is still not here. Sadly, Vivaldi spend o much time adding more and more and miss the basics. Luckily Arc is on windows now. Might come back again in a year and try Vivaldi again.

      @doombeard I believe it's not as big of a team in Vivaldi to implement every feature that pops on these forums, so they really focus on task management with what is the most crucial for now, and then along the way if the time allows - what is nice to have. Only option we can contribute is donating, contributing code - if there is such option, or just promote the browser.

      Another vote here for vertical tab autohiding, like Floorp does.

      Is there a CSS or other extension hack to get this working?

      Firefox mostly lives and dies based on the excellent user-created solutions, as Mozilla devs seem to be focussing on sponsor-related stuff instead of user requests, and as Vivaldi seems to be going down the same route (so many user requests are now 2+ years old with no signs of being implemented) I just have to hope there are clever users out there filling in the gaps.

      Thankyou, that may be a great solution. Good find.

      is this feature request still valid?

      I would like a similar option as well... it's not the same as having a toggle option though.

      Auto hide floating address bar would be nice.

      I think this is the only missing feature which is stopping me using Vivaldi full time. I keep getting frustrated that I either can't see my vertical tabs, or they take up too much screen space, and end up going back to Edge.

      I'm hoping the feature will be added soon.

      Any news on this? Didn't Microsoft add practically all the necessary code for this feature into Chromium itself?

      I don't see where I can vote or +1 this idea, so I'll just comment and add my voice to the many folks requesting this feature!
