Bookmark bar enhancement: When opening a bookmark in a bookmark folder, the bookmark folder is getting closed. Would be great if it would stay open, so it would be possible to open more bookmarks at once.

This is, sadly, a feature that annoys some users no matter which direction the browser goes implementing it. Maybe add a setting so users can pick the default behavior they want.

Although, if after being used once, the popup went away as soon as the pointer left it, you might make both groups sufficiently content.

It is easy enough to use the Bookmarks Panel or Bookmarks Tab if you want to open several links at once.

I am not saying that it should not be implemented, just warning you that it may not happen for years (the Bookmarks Bar needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch), so better get used to other methods while you're waiting.

Missing bookmark bar features like the one above are preventing me from switching to Vivaldi for a while now. But honestly I don't hold my breath and am not in a hurry anymore, cause Firefox is my primary browser since a couple of years now and has all the features I want without the need of add-ons. Can't hurt to make feature requests for Vivaldi, though.

              I agree with this feature.

The only method I found to keep bookmark open is adding a folder to it and hold the mouse button down till cursor arrow reaches that folder then release the mouse button. Bookmarks will stay open.

This thread is pretty old, it's a shame that I'm forced to bring this up from the dead, can't believe how something as easy as this isn't implemented in Vivaldi yet.

I also agree on this feature request and up-voted it, this is one of the things that is keeping me away from Vivaldi at the moment.

Disappointment compared to Maxthon functionality because it's a pain to have to constantly move through the hierarchy of the Bookmarks Bar folders & items whenever making changes like:

                    -Add Active Tab
                    -Edit
                    -New Folder
                    -Delete
                    -Drag & Drop
                    -verify changes are correct
                    etc.

If making changes to the context menu, allow the menu to persist for additional changes (which are likely). Don't close it so this allows the user to continue until done. Because when done, it's only a single click to make it go away. Should be extremely simple to implement (perhaps as simple as commenting out the Close, maybe needs a Refresh).

Only been with Vivaldi for about 3 weeks. Based on some comments, I wonder if suggestions (especially simple ones) are not so readily acted upon (though hasty isn't good either). I haven't used Firefox in ages but maybe....................

Need to bump this post! 🙂
I agree, it is really annoying that the bookmark dropdown menu closes when you move an item.

This feature is already implemented, but perhaps not in the way that people expect.

Hold down the Ctrl key to open bookmarks in the background. The folder stays open, so you can open as many as you wish.

You can even switch to another folder and opens some bookmarks from that.

This should be tagged as DONE.

Using Ctrl+Click does what is wanted without having the folder remain open when it is not wanted.

                          • Left+Click = Open the bookmark and close the menu
                          • Ctrl+Click = Open the bookmark and leave the menu open

Just use Middle Mouse Click, works for me!
