Embedded QR Code generator

User story:
Sometimes I want to quickly share some text / quote / URL to my phone.
Maybe I am lazy but for me the most simple and quick way is to generate QR Code.I use some kind of extension but it's not perfect.
I think that there are plenty of free / opensource / light modules for generating QR codesExample idea:

I second this. This has many great uses and it makes it easy to share URLs, text, etc from your computer browser to your cellphone for easy sharing via apps.
Even when Vivaldi release their mobile version & sync becomes universally available, a simple QR Scan will still be the easier way to share.

An offline QR generator integrated in Vivaldi would be very comfortable and of great help to exchange strings between a PC and a mobile phone without the need of using messengers.
There are extensions to get that QR feature, but I do trust Vivaldi more than some extension that is not open-source. Also the Android version of Vivaldi does not support browser extensions (yet). -
The latest snapshot adds this - it's accessible from the address bar, but you can paste any text you want in.
"[New][URL Sharing][Address bar][QR] Add support for sharing via QR code (VB-72604)"

@LonM That's really great news! Vivaldi rocks!

This feature is now done: https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-improves-tabs-and-media-playback-adds-sharing-of-urls-with-qr-codes/
You can put custom text into the QR generator or just use the current page URL.

The QR code generator for URLs is working great, however an additional feature of selecting any text on a website and right click to generate a QR code would be perfect. It's not always an URL people want to share, but maybe some text content on a website (contact infos, addresses, explanations) as @ROTFL has suggested.

@glx This FQ is tagged as DONE.
Better start a new topic if you want something extra.
