Any news about this?
-
I have just switched to Vivaldi from buggy Opera and I also want these features.
-
Wow, this topic is from 2018 and still it hasn't been added, quite disappointing!
I believe Maxthon has got a drag and drop function to open links in the background and also to save images, via left click perhaps in combination with the Shift key. When you need to save quite a lot of images it gets very tiresome to keep having to right click and select the ''Save Image As'' option.

6 years later = still hoping for this...

I agree, saving pics with drag and drop would be very cool, I believe this could be done in the past with Maxthon.
Thanks for the support buddy.

It would be super useful for me, please implement

Ctrl+Click to Save Images currently has 73 votes. It is what Opera 12.8 uses.

Vivaldi is not young anymore and not only this old opera feature is not implemented in Vivaldi but the extension "Classic images" that allowed to use shift-click to save images without asking, is not working anymore. /me kicks the bucket

What extension are you talking about, was this working for Vivaldi? I only see an Opera based extension, see link.
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/classic-images/

@RasheedHolland it was for opera but could be easily made Vivaldi compatible by doing these steps:
- enabling developer mode in extensions page
- unzipping the Classic.Images.crx found at https://github.com/joelspadin/ClassicImages/releases
in a empty dir, for example C:\temp\Classic_Images\ - in exensions page click "Pack Extension" and provide the dir C:\temp\Classic_Images\ or whatever you used to unzip it ; 2 files gets created: Classic_Images.crx & Classic_Images.pem in C:\temp\
- drag the Classic_Images.crx in the extensions page, a confirmation dialogue asks you if it has to be installed, click OK. Installation is done, you can delete the original crx, the one created by Vivaldi and the .pem file.
- use the extension icon context menu to open the options and select the method ctrl-click or shift-click as you please to save directly to downloads the image.
Too bad it's not only considered "unsafe" and soon to be unsupported but it's already not working sometimes, I can't figure it out why. Use until it lasts.
