      Currently, if I am to set a custom thumbnail for a speed dial, but move the image or delete it, the speed dial also goes away. Vivaldi should also be able to store a copy of my custom thumbnail, so that it does not break if I were to move or delete the picture.

        What about a dedicated folder in the profile folder, where thumbnails are stored with the site URL in the file name?

          I store mine in the Vivaldi folder. I don't see how having Vivaldi store them for you makes any difference. You could still delete them by mistake.

            It could be read only for the user. You open the image from whatever folder you want, but the browser does not use it from there, but creates a copy in the profile folder, and uses it from there.

            In addition, having a dedicated folder would help the syncing of custom thumbnails.

              @altcode Similar problem: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24479/speed-dial-sync-sync-custom-thumbnails

              @Nekomajin Because of Sync I think that storage implementation should be well premeditated.

                No one from Team Vivaldi has said anything about this, but from my testing it seems like is now keeping a copy of the custom thumbnails!

                I don't know when it began doing this, but I sure wish someone had said something sooner!

                  @AltCode I think this is directly related to the future implementation of this feature.
