Vivaldi interprets ThinkPad UltraNav "3Finger Flick" gestures twice.
-
Whenever I swipe the touchpad on my ThinkPad E560, Vivaldi 1.13 goes two steps back and forth in history instead of one. Anybody with an idea what causes this? No other browser is affected.
-
In Vivaldi 1.14 this bug still persists.
-
@jtsn A known issue. Fixing Touch would take a lot of work.
-
@pesala Is there a a way to disable those in Vivaldi? Because having gestures executed twice isn't helpful.
-
@jtsn Settings, Mouse, and disable "Allow gestures," and restart Vivaldi to have the setting take effect.
-
@pesala Doesn't work. Vivaldi still reacts to swipe gestures and it still does every action twice each time. The setting only breaks mouse gestures.
-
@jtsn Try disabling rocker gestures instead.
-
@pesala That doesn't work either. Even with all mouse gestures including rocker gestures disabled, Vivaldi still interprets touch gestures and interprets them wrong (aka twice).
-
Still broken in Vivaldi 1.15

It seems someone reproduced the same bug over a year ago:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/15837/back-button-not-working-properly-on-random-occasions
I'm pretty sure, it's the same fundamental issue occurring here.

Update on this issue: https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/254860
-
Just tested Vivaldi 3.7 on Windows 10 and Vivaldi still interprets VK_BROWSER_BACK and VK_BROWSER_FORWARD twice.
Bug still hasn't been fixed.

Hi your old links are not working anymore, does anybody ever report it to the bug tracker?
A forum post is more to verify other user have the same issue.
I don´t use tablets so I cant test. For information on how to report a bug, see this URL: https://vvld.in/how-to-report-bugs
Once that is done, please share the bug number (beginning with VB-). Thanks.
On the form, you can add your email address. Once submitted, you'll get a confirmation. You can reply to this with any logs or further info.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin I did report this to the bug tracker in 2017, the bug tracker is not public, so I can't tell you what happened to it. Don't know why the forum links don't work anymore, that might be something for another bug report.
It's BTW not a tablet problem, the bug reported in 2017 It's a touchpad problem and it occurs with any input device (including keyboards) which sends VK_BROWSER_BACK and VK_BROWSER_FORWARD scancodes to the browser. These are processed incorrectly (as in twice) for some reason.
I can't dig further into it, because Vivaldi isn't an open source project and the Chromium base code works perfectly fine.

@jtsn
Ah ok, if you know the bug number you can ask for the status in a thread:https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/27450/what-is-the-status-of-vb-already-reported-bug-issue/987
A moderator can update the report or you can report again, may be wait until you know the actual status.
Cheers, mib
