Desired Behaviour:
-
Hide UI per Window
Currently, you can have a per-window fullscreen. However if you choose to hide the UI this is global across all windows, which is sometimes not desirable

Method of allowing custom UI styles across upgrades
Currently if a user has a custom stylesheet for the browser ui they have to do some sort of hacky installation by modifying the browser.html file. This is lost when the browser is upgraded to a new version. It would be nice if there was some way to store custom styles in a setting that is persistent when the browser is upgraded.
I understand this might get broken if some of the ui names change on a particular upgrade, so this kind of setting might not need to be visible within the browser settings tab itself, maybe just as a file in the user dir that way if something is broken it can easily be disabled.

Ability to drag tabs between private windows.

Open New Window (over a link) Mouse Gesture
Currently the "New tab" and "new background tab" have "over a link" variants. But no such variant exists for a new window. Ideally this would have the same functionality as the context menu option "open link in new window".
-
Support for Speed Dial Thumbnail Packs
Currently, if a user wants to share icons with someone else, they have to upload a zip, and then a user has to manually specify the thumbnails for each and every dial. I would find it more interesting if there was some way of "applying" a speed dial thumbnail pack.
E.g. It's a zip folder, and the thumbnails are named like "vivaldi.net.png" or something similar. Then, when the zip folder is "applied", the speed dial thumbs are automatically set with the associated image.

Auto-Reload Options
Classic opera offered some time-based automatic reloading, when turned on it could reload the page automatically every X seconds. A lot of websites these days have built-in auto loading of info but there are a few out there (I notice this forums main page detects new posts but still prompts you to reload manually) which still don't so this feature would be welcome.

Make link hover status info appear next to mouse
If i'm hovering over a link I would like to be given immediate feedback of what it is I'm about to click. It would be nice to have the option of making this appear next to the mouse cursor rather than in a ticker at the bottom of the page.
-
Easier access to saving sessions
Currently I find the process of managing sessions to be a bit cumbersome. It would be nicer to have an implementation that works similar to Microsoft Edge's (yes, I know, I'm surprised too) great implementation of "setting tabs aside" as this seems like a much smoother experience to use. What with the Sidebar, not forcing you to think of a name, not forcing you to then remember said name.

Shortcut for closing panel without hiding
Right now, if I want to use a keyboard shortcut or mouse gesture to close the currently open panel, my only options are:
-
Use the shortcut for that exact panel (and inherent in that, create and maintain shortcuts for each web panel)
-
Hide the panel completely.
There is no generic "close the currently open panel" option that does not also hide the panel bar completely.
-
-
Ability to pin multiple tabs at once.
-
Text only vertical tab cycler
The current tab cycler pop up uses thumbnails horizontally with the current selection in the middle and only displays the page title of the selected tab. A tab cycler like Opera 12 used to have, vertical list with just the page names, would be much easier to use and manage, especially with more than the 7 tabs the current cycler can display. -
Ability to create tab stacks out of pinned tabs or pin tab stacks.
-
Ability to overwrite pre-existing saved sessions.
-
Ability to add/move/remove buttons and UI elements. (100 votes in the last thread)
For example, being able to remove the buttons to the left of the address bar, or the V button, or the new tab and trash icons, the bookmark icons, etc. etc. would be a good start. Another crucial addition would be the ability to place tabs below the address bar, for those that have been waiting for it(I also want it just to see if it looks good that way). Moving panel buttons would be great too, and being able to add some of the status bar buttons to the top bar such as the camera button, page actions, and zoom slider, would also be great.

Better Font Rendering.
Chromium's font rendering is really not as good as Firefox's, Safari's, Edge's, or O12's. It would be great if Vivaldi could break away from Chromium in this regard by creating it's own better font rendering that is smooth and professional.
-
Vertical list tab cycler.
Just like O12, Vivaldi should have a vertical list tab cycle that displays your tabs vertically, and can be cycled through with our custom keyboard shortcuts. It'd also be nice to display the thumbnails on the side. Basically a vertical list tab cycle that mimics O12's in every way.

Vivaldi's Dedicated Downloads Page.
Chrome seems to have it's own dedicated downloads page, which Vivaldi uses as part of Chromium. Every browser seems to have it's own set of dedicated pages. So while I don't care if Vivaldi's is attached to the Startpage, at least having Vivaldi's personal downloads page would help complete the set and differentiate Vivaldi further from other browsers.
