Vivaldi 1.12 – Giving you the browser you want
-
@purgator Why would it be a mistake?
-
@pesala Thx, i was not writing from the forum, that why I didn't see the button.
EDIT : I edited my post but can't delete the next one.
-
@steffie Cause it's a heavy part and for many people (as me) who don't need it, it take space on disk that is unnecessary and unwanted. I should be an optional feature.
-
@purgator Hmmm, i think you should prepare yourself for the rebuttals to flow [from other users more knowledgeable than me]. I respectfully suggest you are recycling non-factual FUD.
-
@steffie We will see

Nice update! I am especially impressed with he accent saturation control. It is I did not know I needed.
-
@ayespy I did refresh my profile and found one of my extension causing the lag but still it way slower than before
-
@northgrove: I'm noticing similar issues with accent color being just ever so slightly off. I'm guessing the accent color saturation feature is to blame. I have mine set to 100% though and it's doing it. Fiddling with color correct rendering has no impact.
-
@dimang: I'd love a "Panorama" type feature. The Chrome add-ons that simulate it just aren't that good. Panorama was the one really great thing Firefox had, then Mozilla killed it. lol
-
@an_dz I'm afraid it's broken even with brand new searches
-
@ayespy It's not just YouTube for me, it's the entire browser running like molasses in January. Scrolling is slow, videos on any site are slow, animated ads are slow on sites where I have ads un-blocked, the whole thing feels like it's been gimped. Doing the profile refresh helped like it did for @Zyzto but it's still not as smooth as the previous version.
-
I do have one question . . . Where is the extension for Avast Passwords? There is an extension for Chrome, why not add it to Vivaldi??? Thanks, Alex
-
@ala550 If it's synced to your Google profile, it won't work in Vivaldi as it would require Chrome-only APIs.

@lakeinholland The 32-bit was always the "recommended" option because it received more attention and testing. That emphasis is shifting to 64-bit.
Pardon me, but I have a distinct recollection that from months 32-bit was recommended (people asked questions about it), and then a year or so ago it suddenly switched to 64-bit - and now suddenly back to 32-bit. Now you wouldn't be the first to call me bonkers, but still...
-
@lakeinholland The download page does not recommend 32-bit for Windows. It does recommend 64-bit for Linux.
-
@lakeinholland I never look at the download page, so I can't speak for its history.
I do know from backstage discussions that starting perhaps 4 months ago or so there was/is an intent to shift emphasis to the 64-bit version. At that time, I started using 64-bit. I never noticed the 64-bit being recommended on the download page, but I did read comments about the 32-bit recommendation being removed. This was, and still is, the case for the snapshot downloads. There is no longer any 32-bit recommendation, and for windows, there is also no 64-bit recommendation (yet)
As to the main download page, the inclusion of the 32-bit recommendation could be nothing more significant than an error in the page text. I'll ask.

Nice video!
"The browser for power users" - I love this! -

like molasses in January
January is the height of summer, where i live, so the putative molasses would be quite free-flowing [given the highly non-linear relationship of viscosity to ambient thermal energy]. Just saying... if you want to use analogies, don't forget there's a global audience, & so your "complaint" can actually read like a "compliment" [depending on one's geography & sarcasm].

Well gee, excuse me for injecting a little local color into an international forum. I figured the developers in Oslo would know what I meant.

gimped
Language is often the source of misunderstandings on an International forum. I was thinking that you were talking about manipulating images in GIMP until I looked it up.
