Vivaldi 1.12 – Giving you the browser you want
-
@logytech come on, stable got release few hours ago, wait some days at least
-
@lonm:
My desktop is a mixture of Win32 and ELF-64 software, merged together using xfce4 ... I would need a screenshot to show it.
I do not really matter what version of software I use, obviously not just for the browser, because the integration between the two environments is really very good and it's almost impossible to figure out whether a window refers to a program for Windows or Linux .
We are many to use WSL in this way because it allows us to combine the strengths of both Windows 10 Subsystems. -
@gwen-dragon:
It's a too large speech that would lead us out of the scope of this blog, Gwen -
Good Updates! Thanks, mr Jon for your greeat browser!
-
Now MAIL on the next beta!
-
First of all: thanks for a first rate browser! Good work and great results! One remark though: what about integrating the updating process from all channels, I want to have the latest Vivaldi version, stable or not - let me decide if I want to follow the developer or the stable path! And a second remark: I have problems using Vivaldi with my touchscreen (Windows tablet) - I cannot arrange the tiles and zoom in the pages by thumb, that's why I'm forced to use other browsers! Please work on it, make Vivaldi more touchscreen friendly! Thanks again for your efforts, your dedication and the remarkable progress of the last couple of years!

You can install them both. Use the standalone (advanced) installation option to install one or both of them.
A new Snapshot for 1.13 will be released soon enough. The latest Final is rarely any different to the final Release Candidate.
Touch screen issues are well-known, but I think not so easy to fix.

Request: make the "Feature requests for 1.13" topic.
-
@asires Soooo, that is done, now.

The problem with hidden/broken icon of local pages in sidepanel is fixed! Thank u!

@julioc1984: Hey nice to see progress in this area, that was quite annoying. I don't think it local pages only though, many of my side panels suffer from this regardless of host.
In this new version they just vanish upon collapsing the panel. as opposed to previously showing a missing/broken icon.
Kudos for using MusicBee
-
@somiknight: Probably because when you hide the panel Twitter notices this and enters "hibernation" mode to conserve battery, I think YouTube has the same thing.
I can't think of a way to prevent this other than a hack in the Blink engine, report it and maybe some dev can have a better idea.
-
@tomv: It still works like that here, typed history had an update on the underlying code and unfortunately as a side effect some search urls get mixed on update. Try again with a search you never made to see if it's registered correctly.
-
When you finally get around to letting me move my tabs BELOW the address bar, I'll consider using Vivaldi. Why haven't you done this yet? Yeash! Is that too much to ask? Good grief.
-
@klgrube ask your money back
-
@atlemo Thanks for posting the photo so we could check it out.

What was the start page thumbnails using in that 1.12 preview video? I've been looking for a way to just use favicons instead of page previews (which actually make my list less clear in my opinion). Doesn't seem to be an option though.
-
@dimang Thanks so much for asking this question. I got the same result for photos on various sites.
-
@etudes Those look like the default thumbnails that come pre-installed for some sites. It is possible to make or use your own, there are a plethora of icons to be found in the customisation section of the forum, for example here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/17568/i-made-a-huge-thumbnail-pack

Hello. Is there a multi-row bookmarks bark now, please?
