Whatsapp web panel

I tried to add https://web.whatsapp.com/ as a web panel, but it doesn´t work, it always redirects to some sort of mobile page, even with "show deskto version" active.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Note: If I open https://web.whatsapp.com/ in a regular tab it works..

EDIT: After closing the regular tab with whatsapp web, now when I try to open again nothing works, not in the regular tabs no in web panel, nothing, it just redirects...

@Regnas Strange, works for me, and I do get the desktop version. I'm on 1.11 though. I get the same result on Opera.

@luetage You're lucky, no matter what I do, killed all the stuff, cookies, cache and whatnot but no luck...

Hi, I have exactly this problem. None of the chatting app works. WhatsApp, discord, reddit, they all redirect to the mobile website and ask me to download it from google play store. Any fix for this?

Discord: I added discord.com/app and it worked perfectly. Didn't even have to enable "Show Desktop Version". Try removing the panel and adding it again with that URL, or enable "Show Desktop Version" and reload the panel just in case.Reddit: Also works with zero issues for me.
WhatsApp: I don't use it anymore, but when I did I had to use some magic to get it working. If I remember correctly, you have to add a panel with the URL web.whatsapp.com, "Show Desktop Version" and then reload the panel (right-click inside of it and choose "Reload"). Clicking the Home button at the top of the panel did not work and would break the panel again, I think.

@komposten Discord doesn’t work at all in the panel. Whenever you do anything (add/remove another panel, hide UI, hide panel, etc., you will be logged out. It’s unusable.

@komposten Thanks very much. Adding specifically discord.com/app worked for me. But there is a new problem with it. I have set shortcuts to specifically open that webpanel. Everytime I use it to open the webpanel, some garbage also get typed in the discord chat. Same with reddit chat. It's really annoying.
Any similar hack with whatsapp too?

If you mean that downloads in Whatsapp webpanel fail, you are correct.
Confirmed bug is: VB-51555 "Side panel download issue - Can not able to download the attachment xls from whats app" -
@doctorg I've got it working now, may have been a bit of user error going on there.
I still had it open on a normal tab but it wasn't giving me an error about it so jumped the gun a little sorry! -
