@Michael_from_Germany Confirmed, in windows 7 at least, but that's a problem on their side, the JW player they use seems to provide wrong content for chrome-based browsers, changing user agent to Edge or Firefox it plays correctly.
F12 for dev tools
esc to show the console drawer, or push the vertical 3 dots menu, More tools, Network conditions
User agent, uncheck Select automatically, then choose one from the list, and refresh the page -
A quick question : Since the changelog only affects Win and Mac, why was there a build for Linux distributed ?
-
@iAN-CooG That's funny; in my case firefox UA didn't work; with Edge 13 UA video worked fine
But I used an extension for that.
I didn't know about the UA settings in dev tools...
Nice to hear that. -
@Hadden89 Not all user agent extensions worked the same for me too, I tried some but now that it's possible to change UA somehow without any extension I've removed them.
-
@iAN-CooG The UA change in dev tool is saved for the site or should be set there everytime you need?
-
@Hadden89 temporary and active only with dev tools active, too bad
-
@iAN-CooG The user-agent interface in dev-tools is meant for testing and developing purposes only, not for browsing sites/watching videos which can't handle your browser (and vice versa). It's not a replacement for an extension.
-
@luetage it works for me, and hopefully Vivaldi shouldn't have to need a change of user agent here and there for much.
-
@iAN-CooG Of course it works, and I'm using it too, but if you would rely on user-agent switching on a regular basis (for whatever reason), it's just awkward, and the better option is an extension.

Imdb trailer now plays without stopping, but still useless because its not smooth, its choppy, playing in firefox as a test gives smooth playback.
-
@michael_from_germany: Obviously because it only affects the snapshot, the stable does not have the bug.

TED.com still doesn't play even after update.
