I use vivaldi 1.8 on ubuntu 14.04 x64.
When I access pages using Adobe Flash Player, vivaldi can't play the flash, and the pages shows 'install adobe flash player'. And I've installed flash player ppapi for ubuntu x64, but vivaldi still can't play the flash. Please solve this problem. -
@gaelle: There is something in web browsing in general that has been vexing me for years. When conducting research on the internet sifting large amounts of information, the tools for sorting it out and help structuring the flood of information is lackluster.
In addition, you may have different motives behind surfing the web; say at one moment you're just entertaining yourself, another, 2. you're investigating new furniture for your place, 3. you're searching for legal information regarding a lawsuit case that affects you, 4. you want to get better at Photoshop, 5. You are looking for work, 6. You are learning Clojure programming language.
That's 6 different sessions each holding a plethora of tabs. There is no way of separating the surfing into different sessions that you can switch between given the need.
So I have some suggestions, is there some place I can post them?

Post one request per post in the Feature Requests thread.

Finally. History was incredibly, incredibly painful to use before. Hopefully it doesn't auto-refresh when you're looking for something now.
-
@Nebu OMG yes, this was why Chromium's history page was extremely painful! I hated that, and how many clicks it took to do things that should just be a few clicks.

Is there something going on with the ability to switch between tabs consistently within a tab stack in this release?
I often use the '1' and '2' keys to go left or right within a tab stack, but in this release, going in one direction or the other sometimes skips a tab (or two) within the stack and then just moves outside of the stack and continues on from there.
If you try to go back, the same item(s) will be skipped. The only way to get to the skipped tabs is to click on the little marker above the given tab to go to it directly.
It's very strange, and to my memory wasn't something in 1.5-1.7 at least.

@rseiler -- This has occasionally happened to me too... in this SS but also in previous. I've never confidently pinned [boom tish] down the root cause, but it seems to have something to do with later adding more tabs to an existing tab stack [vs creating a new stack & not later adding to it].

I rarely add tabs to an existing stack, so most (if not all) times that it's happened here, that has not been involved. Almost always here it's just tabs stacked by domain.
And there's another weird part of this: if you ungroup the problem stack, the two (or whatever the number) of tabs that were skipped over before when switching will set themselves away from the other tabs in the group. And that's not because they where there when first grouped, either (they were all adjacent originally).
This is easy to reproduce:
- Have one tab open. Let's say Site1.com.
- Open another tab to the left of it. Site2.com
- Now open two more tabs for Site2.com adjacent to it. You should now have Site2/Site2/Site2/Site1.
- Create a domain stack for Site2.
- Click into the first tab of the stack and use the '2' key to navigate right. You will find that the last tab in the stack is skipped. If you had a stack of five, the last two would be skipped.
- When you ungroup, one of the tabs (two if you had a five-stack) in the stack will put itself to the right of Site1.com. The very same one that was skipped over before.
-
@rseiler: Yeah, it's a constant to me as well. But since it is very intermittent, it's hard to determine if it really is a bug or not... or at least a considerable one.
-
@CptGuapo I reported it, since it's reproducible for me in 1.8. To check my memory, I went back to 1.7 and couldn't make it happen there. Not that it never happened before, since you mentioned seeing it, but I think that might have been some other cause with a more particular way of triggering it. This new thing seems a clear regression, since I don't know how to make it not happen.

Thanks.
In this thread also problems with tab cycling are reported. -
@gaelle: Ok, I have submitted my requests here:

Something similar can be done via status bar, with the "invert filter" (< > icon); not exactly a night mode, but it works fine
