A historic snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.8.770.9
-
@ian-coog: Thanks, I wasn't aware of that.
-
Wooow! This is the best snapshot of all! The new history is really, really cool!
Thank you very much, guys! -
@dLeon in the past it was working in this way:
-user-data-dir=blabla
Now it is working only in this way:
--user-data-dir=blabla
But it worksmf
-
I just ran out of all of my 16 GB of RAM with a mere 7 tabs opened.
-
@Farblos
Hi, check internal task manager (Shift+Esc).
May you can find the process which eat all your ram.
I work all day with 1.8.770.9 and got no problem like this.Cheers, mib
-
Is it just me or is anyone else noticing memory usage is better in this snapshot?
-
@mib2berlin Might have been a one time thing. No problems since then.
-
It's only with me that Vivaldi is taking long time to open private window? In Opera and Chrome is really fast. In Vivaldi is slowly. I'm in last Debian x64.
-
Thanks for the update and the phenomenal browser Vivaldi team!
-
@ayespy: Where? If I type vivaldi://downloads, then it shows me Chromium's download page.

Surely this problem has nothing to do with Vivaldi!
It must be another process that is consuming all memory! -
@Dovelove - I would try a few things.
- Save off your User Data file in another location, uninstall, Vivaldi, and install it again.
- If that doesn't work, turn off all 3rd party security software of every kind, and try again.
- If that doesn't work, try standalone install.
- If that doesn't work, elevate privileges (select "run as administrator" for the Vivaldi .exe) and try again.
If you get this far and still can't install it, check back here.

I also noticed that! This really is better.
Another thing I noticed is that tabs are opening faster, I have the same image in the Speed Dial of the previous version, I realized as soon as I updated, guides open faster. ( At least here I noticed a good difference! ) -
Great new feature. Thanks
But with this new snapshot 1.8.770.9 I can't access to one of my websites www.zornt.fr due to a HSTS issue. I think that's come from the last Chromium version because there's no issue with other browsers (IE Edge FF MX)
I reinstalled the previous snapshot 1.8.755.3 and my site is running correctly.
I must skip this snapshot waiting for the next one. -
@wladisha: Thanks for your feedback! As it grows from infancy, we definitely plan the history view to remember its latest state.
Regarding your other suggestion, we currently have a little bug that prevents filtering of entries in list only to selected days (fixed for next snapshot). Meanwhile you can click the day list entry with ALT key to collapse or expand all.
-
Entries view is not updating in Month view.
-
@3phase: It is UI zoom related scaling issue affecting all tree views. Will fix, thanks!
-
@andremog: And here I am, always thinking this was a feature, not a bug. Please, if you planing to "fix" this, make it an option.
-
@saudiqbal: Correct, we'll repair. Thanks for reporting!
