A historic snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.8.770.9
-
This is a historic snapshot for us because we re-wrote the history feature. We also fixed almost 40 bugs and upgraded the Chromium backend.

Wow, nice update!
-
Thank you so much for a new snapshot, it's always worth waiting for an update! The Vivaldi team is always surprising!
-
Finally a snapshot with some real improvement to a core browsing feature! Thanks.

Mis-read that at first; thought that 40 bugs were "almost fixed" rather than "almost 40"

Grateful thanks!
I was only missing synchronization.
And group the fixed tabs.
-
Typical... the ONE TIME I ever get to do a "first!" - and you delete the original comment thread!
-
Oh wow, that looks like a feature I'll use quite a lot. Great snapshot, thanks !
-
Wow. Great snapshot.
Was worth the long waiting. -
Awesome update, great to see meaningful progress.
Any update on the following issues: VB-23058, VB-25017, VB-25016, VB-17157 ?
-
To be honest, I am not interested in where I have been, but more in where I am going. Awesome though the advanced history is, I need improvements to shortcuts and built-in email a lot more. Then I can finally stop launching Opera 12.17 every time I start my PC.
-
When doing a search in the history, it could be good to be able to delete from history every matching results.
-
Worth the wait! The number of pages visited is a scary statistic.
-
Bookmarks can be sorted again without also sorting the speeddial order, great.
-
Thanks a lot for the snapshot - I love the new histroy tab - this was really worth the waiting. And thanks for squashing those tons of bugs thumbs up
-
Wow that looks insane, not much of a history user myself, didn't even know I wanted those features until I saw them.
I am certainly gonna start using it more often now.if you have any suggestions to make history even better
Haven't even used it yet, but I'm not sure how it could be improved above that, awesome work guys!
-
@duarte-framos: Actually I just though of something simple: Middle-clicking the history icon on the sidebar button shout open a new tab for vivaldi://history/ just like other regular web panels
-
Amazing update! My favorite fix is Add “Open Image” to image context menu (VB-25883)
Thank you very much for your hard work!

Do you provide a thumbnail of the visited site when placing the mouse over the entry in the history? Since the page might still be in the cache, you could display a thumbnail of the 1st page visited on that site, for that day and time. If it's not in cache then you could fetch it from the web. And show where it comes from (cache or live), of course.

When UI zoom is less than 100%, history panel doesn't fit the current width.
