Details matter. Vivaldi 1.6 is ready
-
Ever the dummy I tried vivaldi://mail and the browser got stuck on the pinned tab the page tried to load in. After killing the browser it would not load properly and displayed a white screen. I panicked and in the end opened a new window from the taskbar icon and restored an old session and grabbed some missing tabs from history. Back running but that was more excitement than I needed before trying to sleep. So don't try that unless you are prepared for it.
-
I'm just wondering, what are the basics you feel Vivaldi is missing?

Who makes YOU the judge?
I've noticed one thing > some cannot take others opinions AT ALL and don't see what THEY are complaining about! But they reserve the right to complain in their own way. I love the Theme Scheduler he spoke of but agree with a lot of his points. Doesn't make either of us WRONG.
< Wild Speculation> Europe and South America seem to have a lot more testosterone and thinner skin than some others. < Wild Speculation>
I think there is a LOT of <wild speculation="">…...going on the Internet all the time
It could be if one was not so judgmental and one sided all would benefit IF THEY took the time to LISTEN. This is meant for EVERYONE and EVERYTHING not one person or thing. So now I am READY to be down-voted and flamed. Jump to conclusions by using same flawed quick acting analysis.
Never criticize your neighbor until you have walked a mile in his ( or her that demand PC ! ) moccasins.
Old American Indian saying ( I think Chief Joseph, Ayespy will correct me)</wild> -
Unfortunately due to Vivaldi crashing randomly thanks to YouTube HTML5 videos, I have to return to 1.5
-
I am getting edit tabs boxes for people that aren't even me. If I try it I get a comment box.

Kanay said earlier:-
1. Delete private data on exit
2. Image context menu
3. APNG support (one can use an extension)Basic things that others also want, but then so are 101 other things on the list of things that are regarded as essential by someone. Email, sync, developer tools, etc., useless to some, vital for others.
A small team cannot do it all at once. Remember that Opera 12.18 was the culmination of over a decade of work by a bigger team than Vivaldi has now.
-
Opera had over 700 staff when Jon left, 200 of them devoted to the browser - which had been under development for over 15 years.
-
Because the comments are both negative and unhelpful. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Bitching and whining, especially when some of the concerns are not even valid (having designers and letting them work is "out of place when it comes to development priorities.") User would demand Vivaldi hire only developers, who cost three times as much, and no designers - because apparently no potential customers care how software looks and feels.
-
Hah! I did something similar, so you're a "dummy" just the same as some dude with a 155 IQ.

Thumbnails in tabs still do not display on a cold start when using the new tab page. This was reintroduced in the 1.5 branch
Win 8.1 x64
Vivaldi x86 clean install -
Who makes YOU the judge?
I think any fair-minded individual can judge when others are being unreasonable. Now you are being unreasonable to point the finger of blame at duarte for stating the obvious.
-
One problem remains, there is no option to return to the tabs open when closing and then reopening Vivaldi and it will not open the last session between computer restarts. Setting specific pages for starting ungroups all tab groups on restart.
-
Can't understand what you are saying here. My Vivaldi always opens to last session, and last open tab. This includes after computer restarts.
-
My stupidity was not preparing for something adverse when I knew I should have. I ignored that little voice.
-
I also have a problem with YouTube videos for some reason. Vivaldi doesn't crash on me, but when I click on a YouTube video to watch it, the video stays black for sometimes up to 10-15 seconds before it even starts to load. It's been like this for the last few 1.6 snapshots. Anyone else having this problem?
-
What, then would you have the designers do? Nothing? Would you have them not work? Should they do development tasks (for which they are not qualified) instead? Should they never have been hired? What is your wish for designers, if not to let them do their jobs?
-
Me, too. I knew better, but had to test it. Worse, then I pushed the buttons on the fragmentary "mail bar" until the browser froze.
-
If you delete the "Settings" folder from your profile folder, it may solve this.
-
Sorry for accidental down-voting you,
This is AFTER in settings you check how you want it to happen and doesn't follow? I've got rather a flaky system and never had that problem…check to be sure. First page of gear like icon on lower left panel.
