Snapshot 1.2.470.11 - Editable Gestures
-
hmm this is weird.
in eBay "Saved Searches" (eBay call it "Searches you follow") if I click "Edit search", it just reloads the page.
Works fine in other browsers - opens a fresh instance of the search and allows you to save any modifications - this problems seems specific to Viv

Hahaha, I agree! This is the first version that got me so excited I downloaded the snapshot!
Just made me realize how, finally, I can completely let go of the old Opera. -

Never understood what was the point of the visible trail option so many chrome extensions seem to have enabled by default. Care to explain?
Yeah, I don't think a trail is useful. I don't need to see what I have drawn.
I liked the little graphic overlay that Opera 12 had that showed what commands were assigned to the various gestures. It lets you know when you are performing a gesture. And it also reminds you what commands you have set up.
-
It's normal here. Win10 x64, Viv x64.
-
Trying to reproduce. By the way, as a fellow selecting buddy, I highly suggest you use the Chrome extension "Select like a boss", which will actually make it much easier to select hyperlinked text so it behaves much more like Opera 12. (By the way, there is discussion among testers and devs about how to implement this directly in the browser.)

When you are at it, please add configuration of rocker gestures, before you forget
please, please, pretty please
and of course add missing actions like scroll to top/bottom, and for now "gesture over element" actions seem to be missing in the listI somehow added gesture with gestures enabled, it bugged pretty much, wasn't working and I was unable to edit or remove it, had to reset
and about tab improvements: open new tab by middle click on tab bar is still missing, and it is one of core features that should be present in the first stable release
-
Popular enough that one of the sopranos took up the cause for you with the devs!
-
Of course i already installed the extension. Was the first thing i googled after Opera went from 12.16 to 15

Thank you developers for doing such an extraordinary work! I personally was very sad the time when opera pushed their browser back to the stone age, (releases after 12.XX) now finally, thanks to you all we have a browsing expierence that reminds me of the powerful opera 12.16 with even more features. As I work alot with the web, the little things like not having to open a new tab to reach a bookmark are key points for my choice of a browser, I love how you solved this by reintroducing the panels widget! (Next step would be a History panel I hope you are working on that…) Also you brought back Ctrl+Z, (reopen last tab) thanks alot for that! Of course there are still a few things to solve, (UI freezes from time to time, Incompatibility with some Chrome extensions) but in my opinion Vivaldi is already the most powerful browser available at this time, great work!

Nice update! I want to add my support to others asking for similar customizability for rocker gestures. I like using the rocker gestures to go back and forward in history.
-
Excuse me, how to set the e-mail panel?
-
That would be great to place browser buttons wherever i want to. For example, remove the "home website" button, and get the "panel button" in its place. Like in old Opera.

I just discovered Vivaldi am I'm loving it! Used to be an Opera user since version 6 up to about 11 or 12 when it switched to Chromium
This snapshot came in time because of the editable mouse gestures But imho it's still missing Scroll to Top/Bottom option, I use right click + wheel up, though it would conflict with tab cycle. I'd hope for a possible option to customize that tab cycle gesture (or option to disable it).
Do check out FireGestures Extension on Firefox, which has the best customization imo.
Wheel Gestures for instance, lets you set a particular command for Scroll up with holding right-button.
There is also an option to add custom User Scripts, for example: to activate LastPass auto fill login hotkey, like for alt+W:
FireGestures.sendKeyEvent({ alt: true, key: "W" });
this would work somewhat like Opera's Wand which was something I missed alot.
Thanks again for the great browser, I know it's in the early stages, but I'm excited to see Vivaldi grow in the future!

actually fire gestures is the best mainstream solution, take a look at the otter browser gestures config: insanely geeky but at the same time the most powerful
but do we need THAT MUCH power? I think yes, but as extra advanced mode and the basic would be cloning fire gestures -
Option to open a bookmark with a single mouse click (VB-16878)
I love you guys! ^^
