But tere are no hiytory settings.
Is it possible to run Vivaldi permanently in private mode? -
/edit im stupid

Pray tell, what is that magical Chromium internal feature that causes the current Vivaldi asinine behavior where you have to click on each and every tab (at browser startup) to even load them?
Opera doesn't have that problem. I guess Opera devs are wizards.
(Hint: lazy tabs != tab hibernation)

Thanks for letting us know about this issue and nice words. Would you please file a bug report on vivaldi.com/bugreport so that the dev team can look into it? Thanks in advance.
-
Thanks for sharing such detailed report. Would you please copy paste it on vivaldi.com/bugreport ? That way the dev team can look into it asap. Thanks in advance!

I think the problem is mainly the way Vivaldi handles tab-focus order.
It is also one of the things that is throwing me off the most in comparison to the old Opera. In old Opera, you could switch between either focusing the last recently used tab upon closing the currently active tab OR (and this is what I am missing painfully) focusing the "next tab to the right".
I would VERY much appreciate if this functionality came to Vivaldi. Right now, in Vivaldi you can only have the "last previously active" or the "next related" tab. The next-related is already pretty close to the opera way, but no cigar (yet).
Dear Vivaldi devs: If you read this, PLEASE give us "activate next tab to the right" as an option for tab closing!

THANK YOU for the context menu options on the title bar. I would have said this on release but I couldn't log in for some reason.
About pinned tabs: could an option be added, "Pinned tabs cannot change" or something like that? I have my started set to "last session" but always keep the first tab pinned as my homepage. Occasionally a stray click will change that pinned tab and it's super mildly annoying.

It has less to do with using the gray background, but more with tab-management. Earlier in Opera, if I'd be researching something, I'd just open a bunch of interesting tabs. Then I'd close the current search engine tab, bringing me right to the first tab I opened. So far so good. Both Opera and Vivaldi can do that.
Now, the difference is, in Opera, I had the choice to "minimize" the current tab, which basically just disabled the tab and moved me right to the next tab in order, without actually closing the tab. Basically that means "closing the tab without closing it" in regards to the "last recently active" tab order.
In Vivaldi, if I manually move to the next tab, keeping the current one open for later, it completely screws with my tab ordering. Because now, if I close the tab I just moved to, it moves me BACK to the one I just left (because it is the last recently active tab), so I have to manually move to the next tab again, leaving the last one, which I still want to keep open for later, as the last recently active tab YET AGAIN, and that pattern continues. This is super annoying!tl;dr "Minimizing Tabs" in O12 was a superb way to manage skimming through multiple open tabs one after another and filtering out the interesting ones without screwing with your tab-activation order.

If they are looking into bookmarking stuff … any chance they look into the missing bookmarks bar (not panel) rightclick menu? Still waiting to make the switch to Vivaldi for this single reason ...

Bug report VB-12492Thanks.

Why autocompletion is working so strange? Sometimes it gives me completely unrelated urls. Another thing - base url should be prefered. You should work on it!
-
Adding an option for closing left or right tabs would be very useful and means one less extension for me.
-
Really curious as to why people would want to downvote my explanation. To quote the main Vivaldi website: "Customize Everything […] Vivaldi web browser lets you do things your way by adapting to you and not the other way around." I guess not.

Add the switch –incognito to the desktop shortcut.

Your feature request gets tracked as VB-3618
My extension should do the trick for now: https://github.com/Christoph142/Pin-Sites -

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DTHANK YOU, VIVALDI! I've been wanting this feature since forever!
-
… I need to come up with more feature requests before my luck runs out!
I'm grabbing that plugin... and your mod to Select-Like-A-Boss, because I use that already haha. Thanks, this was an awesome way to wake up.
