Snapshot 1.1.443.3 - New tab options
-
@Ruari or other Vivaldi guys, I don't see opening new tab in background. Are you seriously going to made Vivaldi the only major browser that lacks of this standard option? I miss Opera 12
-
I have encountered another bug, a small one. Vivaldi does not remember it was maximized (not fullscreen) when I restart my computer, opening in a smaller window instead (only the first time after turning on the computer).
All my testing done on Windows 7 x64
-
One Bug, which also exists in the 1.0 stable:
When scrolling in the TinyTinyRSS feedreader, new images don't get loaded, after the first few articles. -
Exactly. The users would have the latest Chromium updates (security, perfs etc), while Vivaldi can take its time to do the features they want.
And BTW, no plannings, no schedules, it's always a surprise -
That tab no-refreshing thing is really annoying… But I think it is a feature, which intend to save some machine resources. Could someone confirm this?
If I am wrong, please, fix this asap.
-
I think it is a bug, more and more.
The only times I see tabs not refreshing are when I exit and enter Vivaldi again; tabs must be clicked in order to get refreshed. Afterwards, however, they refresh by themselves, even those in the background (they're definitely not 'lazy').
-
I was victim of number 2 yesterday, right here on this page. It would really be nice if it behaves like this you proposed.
-
Confirmed. Some comments above already report this.
-
I get this very eventually too, but how it is not that recurrent, I did not complain about it.
W10 x64, Viv x64.
-
Vivaldi has four ways to open a new tab in the background. The default "standard" that OldeOpera followed was to open them in the foreground.
-
Weird. My background tabs go to sleep. Always.
-
Do you have search in URL field turned on? It is a selectable option, after all.
-
Vivaldi is really faster and more stable since at least, let's say, five builds, and since it's getting better and better, now I feel I can adopt it as main browser undoubtedly. Bye bye, Chrome…
But as for the open new link into the current tab stack resource, I think it's better to have this option in right-click menu instead in general settings, since I believe we not always have a related tab to that stack. And have to go always to the Settings Window to turn it off is way counter-productive... A combo of a click+keys/keyboard shortcut would be nice as well. It's meant to be a fast and practical feature. Then, putting it as general option is slowing down the process a bit. Anyway, my 10 cents.
I'm having a little bug for a considerable time regarding new and cloned tabs opening. Despite I choose the options to open them always at right position, right when I open them, they, for an instant, open at last position in tabs bar and soon go to the right position. Very strange...
Making chorus with some people here, please add "Close tab and go the right" feature. Finally, please implement something to differentiate folders from sub-folders from bookmarks in the drop-down bookmark menu on address bar. As I have a lot of bookmarks and many of them with same or similar name, it's terrible to be sure which folder is which... I go to bookmarks window, check in what order the folders are and thus I get the right place to make the bookmark...
And "Add this page/link to bookmarks" in context menu is also missing. It would be good to remember that exist non-address bar users. By the way, I only use it because of bookmark addition thing...Please keep up the fantastic work. Cheers.

Login to Asana with Google finally works ! Yeah ! THANK YOU ALL !!!
-
I think the first tabs tend to "age" more. If you want to keep the tab open, even hibernating, it will probably be in the far left, instead of being in the right with the recent opened tabs.
Therefore, it would be very nice if Vivaldi had the option to "Close tabs to the right", just like Opera.
-
The extension "Save to Pocket" crashes the browser every time I click it or try to login via the extension's configuration page.
-
Well that answers it! I really hope Vivaldi can get a tab cycler just like O12 has in this version. Am I the only one that wants that?
-
Thank you ..
-
Google Docs page will not load on my Windows Vista desktop PC with Vivaldi 1.0 Final or with this snapshot. I get a "dead canary in the coal mine" image.
-
I'm not sure if it's been reported yet or not, but I noticed that when I try to drag a note into a form field on a web page (as an alternative to the "Insert note" context menu entry that Opera 12 and older had), Vivaldi only adds "Undefined." to the form field rather than adding the text of the note.
I've tried it with notes imported from Opera 12, and new notes created in Vivaldi.
I'm using the 64-bit build for Windows.
