Snapshot 1.0.429.5 - A fix for videos causing freezes and a new option for tab switching
-
Sometimes the gesture for a new tab opens a previously closed tab, not necessarily the most recent. Anyone else getting this?
-
Just wanted to say thanks so much for the new "last tab" feature, I liked it immediately.
-
- A way to re-order context menu items would be fantastic! Please? I don't mind editing text configs. Actually, for now I just want "Open Link in Background Tab" at the top. :p
You could simply try to use the "Open in BG Tab" mouse gesture instead. So instead of RMB-then move mouse to menu item-LMB you could do RMB-drag-down-and-up. Does the trick for me
While I am at it: I wish I could reconfigure mouse gestures so that the gesture I am used to is back again: RMB-drag-down (aka. Gesture Down) is used for "open link in backgroud tab". I am willing to edit config files.

Thanks for reminding me about that gesture.I'll give it a shot - I use gestures for navigating only, so it'll take a while.

Yes! Thank god (/Thor?) for that Youtube bug fix, and I've been clicking tabs to minimise fruitlessly since Presto days… Brilliant!
Bug: scrolling on Windows 10 (Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 3) is a nightmare on the touchpad. It's laggy, bouncy and slow. It could be the Synaptics software driver being crap, but then why is Edge so good at scrolling on my machine (Immediate, fast and smooth, like Presto was)?
Feature request: please can we have a master password one day? ...and Wand/Thor's Staff/whatever? ...and ctrl+enter?! Seriously though, a master password would be great, especially when this becomes and email client, and to be honest I'm already logged in to my email since I don't delete cookies on exit each time, so a Master password would be great.

This has happened to me in previous builds. Haven't noticed anything with this build yet.
-
Yes and it kinda worries me. I had the same happen with Opera, which was one of the reasons I stopped using it entirely. The bug has been there for a huge number of builds and was never fixed (it's still there for me).
Issue is that I haven't figured out a way to reproduce it consistently so I can't report it yet.
Edit
I had it happen in this build as well. -
I've had it happen sporadically in both Opera and Vivaldi, in current builds. It's annoying, but not rage inducing yet.
-
Yeah, same here. I wonder if it's a Chrome thing. I don't use that, so I dunno.
-
What about click a link with the middle mouse button that should open it in background tab or left click it while holding down crtl. Don't see th need to readjust the context menu for this one .
Nevertheless an adjustable context menu - regardles of purpose - would be really great. I like that idea
-
Click active tab to return to previous tab – yesssssss! I missed that
-
Thanks, that solves it.

The Update popup window ALWAYS goes backward (hiding from view) while it has to always stay on top.
I think this problem has been already fixed for a few months. When I say there is no popup, I actually check if it's hidden behind the Vivaldi window. Some of recent snapshots didn't show any update pop-ups, in the back or on top.
@ryofurue: you have to manually download and install beta1 and check again if it will update or not; in case you do snapshots the SU works correctly, but only for these snapshot builds. These are different trunks…
I don't install official beta versions, precisely because of what you say. I just want to stay in the snapshot stream.
-
They deactivated a few snapshots from auto-update because they were a bit buggy and should only be tested after you read the blog so you can decide whether you wanted to give it a try or skip this version
I see. That explains. Thanks for the information. . . . But, even in that case, I'd prefer an informative pop-up to no pop-up. Please remember that I'm not talking about "auto-update"; I actively go to the Vivaldi menu to "Check for Updates . . . "

Got it. Arguments noted for consideration.
Thank you for the input everyone. -
I like the new click tab option thingy. Happy Easter!

Funny translation bug (OS X 10.11) "About Vivaldi" is translated as "Noin Vivaldi" ("Noin" is correct translation when talking about numbers "This costs about 100 euros". Usually in browsers "Tietoja Vivaldista" is used which means "Information about Vivaldi."

What a nice feature click active tab is,
kinda like rmb+scroll, just this is faster.Suggestion, should only work if vivaldi has focus, if its in background, and you click tab to focus it and read it, it jumps to previous tab, and that is not real intention.

Thanks for letting us know about it.
