Snapshot 1.0.429.5 - A fix for videos causing freezes and a new option for tab switching
-
The only downside is that while trying to drag the active tab to another position, as soon as it's clicked, it switches to the previously active tab. Otherwise it's a great feature. Hope it will be fixed very soon.
-
F4 works or clicking the panel toggle button works.
The panel toggle is still on the left when the panels are on the right, and the tooltip still says "Show Panel" when the panel or panel toolbar is already displayed. VB-8054
-
Double-click is more difficult, and is already used to close tabs. Keep it just like old Opera.
-
When one does not share a computer/workspace with others there are no security concerns. Being able to see passwords is convenient for such users. I use Opera Pass View, but it would be nice to have an option to enable them in Privacy Settings by entering a master password once per session.
-
Confirmed, but only a minor inconvenience since clicking it again after moving it will return focus to the tab.
-
So happy about minimizing tabs. Thank you. Thank you. It's working pretty good. Will test more.
-
Why do you mean open Settings in tabs? I've been trying the main drop down menu and Alt-P, but don't see anything in the tab context menu. If I knew why those weren't working more than one time per session, I'd have fixed it and posted the solution. So if you have another way, I'll give it a try. But even then, I doubt it would work if the other two aren't; i.e., something is stopping Settings from opening a second time.
Btw, I did a clean resintall last week and have the default Speed Dial tab again. What's the way to stop that?
-
- open settings
- in a tab of the browser type: vivaldi://settings in the url field of address bar and press enter
- (repeat in new tabs until you have enough settings tabs)
Result: One settings window, many settings tabs.
OR
- open settings (window)
- "Open setting in a tab"
- close settings
- open settings
- right-click on the tab > Clone tab
- (repeat until you have enough settings tabs)
- Alternatively press Ctrl+N to open a new window and open the settings there a second time.
Result: Many open settings tabs or windows.
-
Right-click on tabs sometimes fails to produce anything; When it does produce the context menu, it sometimes misses hibernation.
This has been going on for many snapshots. Very inconsistent. Mac OS 10.11.4 .
-
There might be more to the X than we can see at a glance - especially because it sometimes has to share its place with the "mute" icon (you need a lot of open tabs to see that )
-
"Check for Updates" is unstable. For some snapshots, it shows a pop-up window that reports whether there is an update. For other snapshots, it does nothing. (I don't install any official beta; I just stick to latest snapshots from this blog.) Mac OS 10.11.4 .
-
Well, the behavior was never even available before, nevermind default. So when they introduced the setting to open new tab with bookmark, there was a 50% chance that default would be the "activated" state, and 50% chance it would be the "de-activated" state. Maybe they flipped a coin.
-
This is true. It's better than it was some months ago, but still unreliable.
Same here. (At least until this snapshot came out. Currently the "X" button always appears, but I've been using this snapshot only for 20 minutes so far
-
It is not even a real concern if you share the computer - as long as you make absolutely sure that the other user can not get admin rights and to mandatory has to use a different user account than you. Otherwise all bets are off anyway because apart from a "one time pad" every encryption can be broken, provides you have enough time and computing power.
But I must admit I would like to have a master password too, makes things a bit harder to crack.

[Mac] Vivaldi not shown when clicking Vivaldi icon (VB-11036)
This is not completely solved. Last night I had it again in OS X Mavericks when updating the snapshot. I had to quit it manually and launch Vivaldi again. On its first launch all menus (menubar) showed in English which is not my own language. Please investigate the issues on OS X 10.9.X… -
Known bug and being worked on.
-
Same on OS X Mavericks.
-
The Update popup window ALWAYS goes backward (hiding from view) while it has to always stay on top.@ryofurue: you have to manually download and install beta1 and check again if it will update or not; in case you do snapshots the SU works correctly, but only for these snapshot builds. These are different trunks…
-
They deactivated a few snapshots from auto-update because they were a bit buggy and should only be tested after you read the blog so you can decide whether you wanted to give it a try or skip this version
-
F4 is working as it should be but clicking the panel toggle leads to nothing. Unfortunately this makes using the side-panel (imho) user-unfriendly.
