Snapshot 1.0.209.3 More visual improvements and better mouse support
-
Good to hear.
-
bah!
-
Not sure if requested already, but on Mac, please make it so that when double-clicking on the tab bar the browser will fully maximize rather than minimizing to the dock. Constantly resizing manually is pretty tiring especially with the bug that keeps the browser at default size at every restart.
-
vivaldi link on the desktop open Torch after install Torch
-
When the Tabbar is Left/Right, as more tabs are added, they don't shrink in size to fit the vertical window space. Instead, they simply march off the bottom and become invisible.
Confirmed. Sometimes they also go off the top. Usually some UI elements get messed up as well, as if part of the window extends off the screen.
-
Mixed blessing. I think you guys were too hasty to publish build 209, as evidenced by its numerous, numerous bugs. That said you have now had testing of it by thousands of people, who found dozens of bugs you had overlooked, so I am more optimistic than ever about tomorrow's (purported) release. Hopefully you were able to get around to everything important, but the compressed time frame makes me perhaps a tad less sanguine.
-
Torch does somehow steal Vivaldi's start link function. We've seen this before. I'm not sure why it happens, but it's a real thing. Hope you get it sorted.
-
Not to be pushy, but I wonder if anyone will have time to look into the regression that trying to log in to Disqus crashes Vivaldi. Crashes it completely. Vivaldi has never been able to properly handle Disqus cookies (keeps saying you are not logged in when you are, and refuses to let you stay logged in between sessions or between PAGES or relosds in Disqus), but this is the first build I can think of that totally crashes if you merely try to log in.
-
It's always a compromise between getting cool new features out as quickly as possible and fixing bugs before doing so…
-
It only crashes for me if I click the "Save password" button after logging in.
-
Disqus works fine for me and keeps me logged in. (Win7 x64, Viv x64) on build 201 (the one before this one). In fact I haven't had any Vivaldi crashes at all.
-
clicking option and the green button should also maximize instead of going full screen.
-
Personally I'd like the release even if buggy. We know there will be bugs; for a long time yet. I'm OK with them. I want to see progress :-).
-
Hm. My password is already saved, so I never click that button. I just get the crash. Click on the "login" button (which I should not have to do, because cookies should know I'm logged in), and crash. Prior to this, any time I went to the site, it showed my logged out though I have it set for persistent log-in, I just click on the log-in button, and boom, I'm logged in. No other input necessary. Then if I change or reload a page, it showed me logged out again, so I clicked "log in with disqus" (no other input and I was once again logged in. I'm on Win 8.1 x64, using 32-bit Vivaldi.

Damn. "edit" just does not work on this blog. Not at all.
-
Yup. I know…
-
The Extensions manager is blank—Installed extensions will continue to work
I tried to install data compression proxy from chrome store
CWS recognize Vivaldi (install button) but there is no effect at all (no compression)also…crx, locally drag and drop on extension page is not accepted
page is blank, but extension does not work (simple dragging links) -
Yay! Linux support: With the forward/backward keys working. Almost there for productive use = default browser.
There currently is only the nasty bug with mouse gestures being garbled (seemingly, rather than broken): On Windows, for "open link in new tab" I expect the "down" gesture to work (did always work before, until .190 or so, now I have to do "up" to do so. Under Linux, I have to do "up-down" to do. On both Windows and Linux, "down" just closes the current tab which drives me mad.
This must clearly be some mixup in the configuration. Where can I edit/change that?
With all the tiny quirks remaining, it already is the best browser for me! -
When I click a link in in an email on my old Opera 12, Outlook or another program like Skype, Vilvaldi starts, but it don't open a new tab with the desired website. When Vivaldi is already running the whole window is resized, if it was maximized, but now the website is opened.
-
Last time I tried "edit", I had to scroll to the bottom of the page to find my editable text ready to update.
Edit: It still works in other browsers, so I guess it's just this version of Vivaldi browser that broke their own forums
