Snapshot 1.0.209.3 More visual improvements and better mouse support
-
The most important feature of this release, mouse tab switching was hidden away in the updated. I almost missed it. Nice initial work!
Now I am hoping for desktop/web notifications, which is the only feature most other browser has, that I miss. -
I noticed same problem, i tried to move one item in bookmarks, and it took about 2-3 mins until i finally did it, because, as you said, other folders open and make it hard to finish action.
-
The Settings dialogue wastes a lot of space for the Left Column. That could be about 50-60% of its current width and still have room for the longest text label, which is currently "Appearance" or "Downloads"
When the settings dialogue is reduced in Width, the Mouse categories get compressed: i.e. the text labels: Close Tab, Reopen Closed Tab, History/Back, History/Forward become CT, RCT, HB, HF or disappear entirely.
-
The first finger is already on the left button, the middle finger is on the scroll-wheel, and the fourth finger is on the right button.
To use the scroll-wheel to switch tabs, one has to move the middle finger to the right button, and scroll with the already over-used first finger.
Offering the option to use Left Mouse + Scroll-wheel would reduce RSI.
-
- Can't open SpeedDials with mouse scroller (button 3)
- Settings Dialogue opens in wrong position (in dual/second monitor) loads on the first one, not in the browser centre for example.
- There's no option to disable tab resizing preview(show tab thumbnails - just to disable it)
- Inspect Element isn't fixed in the browser.
- videos from gospodari.com don't loads (example) code.visualstudio.com videos don't loads too!
- It's hard to drag the browser in windows (you can catch it only under the close, min, max), but not in tab area…
- When you have a lot of tabs opened, the "x" button for closing them is not "x", does not display correctly! If they are really a lot then there isn't x button at all.
-
BUG: The UI Scale is reset to 100% on reopening the Settings dialogue
-
in my case this happens in windows 7 vivaldi 64bit: esc doesn't close the find in page bar. but curiously esc works as expected in a machine with good old windows xp 32 bit.
-
I have noticed this as well on Linux (scrolling through tabs when just using the mouse wheel). Random. I have not figured a way to reproduce yet. I do not use Google Hangouts.
-
more feedback about UI, ok…
1. id like moving elements (tab bar, nav buttons ets, like in windows task bar). im now using other browser and have all elements in 1 slim row
2. dont like static status bar. it can popup or slide, not on/off
3. want to change not only scale of all UI but separate elements also (example: dont want small tabs but want small nav buttons)p.s. sorry for my bad english
-
Looks like it happens after a right click on a tab or in the address field. Once the context menu is closed the wheel handling gets into this mode. It can be fixed by pressing the right mouse button once more in a page.
-
The button to toggle the panel should be moved to the right when the panel is on the right.
-
What about introducing keyboard shortcut for "Save Image..." like in Opera 12.x?
-
As for the second search field, it has been fixed internally, but was not caught in time sadly to reach the public
-
Thanks, I'm investigating this regression as we speak, and hope to have it fixed before next snapshot

Since this update, the transparent tabs option seems to be broken. It works with the new dark theme but not anymore with the light theme.
Speaking about theming. Are there any plans to color non-active tabs according to their content as well? When I first read about the coloring I thought that was the whole point, so you could find tabs quickly based on color.
Also still an issue: when reopening a tab (after accidentally closing it), it always opens in the newest window, even though tathe b was in an older one and the reopen action was done in an older window.
Also, this may be me being stupid, but I don't understand the tab changing order when scrolling in the tab bar. It is not most recently used for me, nor left-to-right, and scrolling down once and up once again (without the mouse leaving the tab bar) doesn't leave me on the same tab. Right-click scroll gives me most recently used order and that works perfectly.
Btw: awesome work, I'm definitely a fan of all of this
-
It also resets for me after restarting Vivaldi
-
Tabscroll is hypersensitive for me.
I only scrolled one time in this gif and it jumps a few tabs after that.
Didn't use a mouse but a touchpad - maybe it's because of this. -
Confirmed! Thanks for reproducing and for the steps!
Happens on Mac and fine on my Windows machine. So the Google Hangouts thing was just coincidence. xD -
Two things:
1. Whenever I start typing a URL and the links start showing in the address bar - well, I scroll down to a link, click it, and then have to go back to the bar to hit enter for the browser to go.
2. Google Sheets is telling me The version of the browser you are using is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser.Dismiss - it's been showing this since day 1. No other browser ever shows me that.
Debian Stretch 64-bit.

Confirmed with a synaptics touchpad. Sensitivity is fine with my mouse.
