Snapshot 1.0.201.2 Improvements to Search Engine Management, Spatial Navigation, Gray look and the foundations for customisable mouse gestures
-
Ah, I had a laughing & coughing fit when I saw the author name pop up in my RSS feed. I'm a bit sick but that brightened up my day. The trick is to make terrible coffee so they remove you from that duty ASAP!
I'm very sensitive to UI polish, and while there's a long way to go here, the lighter grey is more fitting for me on Win7, I appreciate it the option.
The search options make me wonder though - we're on Blink, another browser vendor has stated that adding custom search engines is a security issue in Blink, which they've not been able to work around yet. Has Vivaldi worked around that issue, whatever the exact nature of it is?
-
Can't use the automatic update for x64 also normal update also doesn't work.
The message http://s28.postimg.org/4lfz3h0yl/Vivaldi2.png apears.
Have to install it as Administrator -
check out the post with the poll - http://vivaldi.net/surveys/index.php/statistics_user/action/surveyid/561377/language/en
ALL of these will be implemented, the poll results determines more or less the priority of these features. there will be more polls in the future

The first and third items on your list have clearly and repeatedly been promised by the team. The second has not been commented on.
-
I had considered opening with the line, "Don't worry, you are reading the correct browser blog!"
Hope you feel better soon!
-
Are you on Linux? That's the only place I've seen backspace not work as back button.
-
for me - backspace is working fine. try it again maybe. or try adding it manually to hotkeys (i don't have it there but it still works)
-
When you select some text and right click, there is still option: "Search Google for (selected text)", but Google is not default search engine. I need option to search with my default search engine, in right click menu.
-
Thanks for the release. Nice to see another old Opera face here, are you sure you are up to the task of working on a browser that is trying to add features instead of taking them away?:P
I think it was mentioned in here before (but didn't get an answer). Are you aware that the the middle (mouse) click does not open bookmarks from the sidebar if a scrollbar is present? Or is the scroll that I get deliberate (I hope it isn't).

Pardon my typing. Don't know how that "i" got in the middle of your name, and now I can't edit it…
-
Yeah, +1. I want search in dgg through context menu.
-
We need some solution for when option Color Active Tab is enabled and tab have a light background color. For example: deviantart.com have very light gray background, and that in conjunction with the white text leaves us with something like that
Also, nice to see one more familiar name here.

half of vivaldi devs worked for opera

Welcome (back) Ruari, and a pretty neat build to start things off!
One small question, any chance we get a fully functioning "clone tab" option soon?
-
Vivaldi still opens on the left side of the monitor and takes up half the screen. It never remembers the size/dimensions of the browser window
-
it would be cool to be able to trigger mouse gestures with keyboard keys. even i would use it then
-
Welcome to the project, Ruari, and thank you, folks, for the new snapshot!
The 64-bit update notified, downloaded and installed without a hitch and no Secure Desktop UAC prompt in the Win7 User account. It is certainly convenient but I've told Windows not to do stuff like that without asking so I'm not entirely certain if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
The Bookmark editor still fights text input unles…s y...o...u t...y...p...e s...l...o...w...l...y...! and drps carctes wile it put the crsor whevr t fel lik pttng it.
The Notes editor still doesn & # 39 ; st display punctuation correctly after you & # 39 ; s ve finished editing a note but always displays it correctly while you're editing.
The Vivaldi Task Manager Shift-Esc works fine but one of the snapshots borked (technical term) the "Stats for nerds" link. It opens vivaldi://memory, then stalls out on a blank page. I have to keep adding the last part of the URL to open vivaldi://memory-redirect and see the Stats page.

That must be a bug. Clicking with the MMB is not the same as scrolling. What OS? Right now I am on a mac with a mouse that does not let me middle click at all (system issue).
-
There is only one adequate word for this: yay!
\ o /

Aye, if it gets 'stuck' try refreshing the page and it should let you edit your own comment(s).
A week or so back it would show the Edit button on any comment at all but wouldn't actually let you Edit them. That got fixed… I think!
Edit: Nope! The Edit button still appears on any Comment. Clicking it jumps you down to the bottom of the page and opens a text box with the word "undefined" in it. /Edit
