Snapshot 1.0.174.8-1 Startup settings and tab-switching performance
-
Confirmed. The window size is set to default every exit and startup. I had to go back to using the original setting.
-
When I press command-T to open a new tab, 2 new tabs are popping up instead of just 1.
-
Have anybody the problem, that if I start Vivaldi, it can't open in fullscreen mode?
-
here is the promised screenshot:
http://i.imgur.com/ItLNH3c.pngit says something about DNS. (and a second after that the page re/load and all is OK but still)
-
How do you mean, "…doesn't work at all?" I'm on the same system as you, and mine works perfectly...
-
still missing an option to turn off thumbnails on right-side tabs..
Other than that, seems smoother than before, makes me happy.
-
3 issues found, all related to the tabs behavior, which were fine in previous build.:)
- Pin 2 tabs > then try to open a new tab > it appears in between the 2 pinned. If you try to open a new one - it appears again between the pinned 2, but if you are patient enough to try opening of 3rd tab - it will appear finally at the right side of the pinned, as it is expected.
- The pinned tabs now can be closed again, which should be not allowed.
- Close Other Tabs option is closing everything.
The only one remaining performance issue seen is that my browser frequently freezes for around 5-10 seconds on some just opened sites, before to continue to scroll down.
Except this performance problem all works fine and I am happy to use it. Thanks!:)
PS. Btw, I guess there should be several performance improvements needed at all as my test in Peacekeeper shows that Vivaldi is still behind Otter & Opera 29 in this aspect.

when use the appearance using native window it is supposedly like chropera and chrome not separate them. it is so ugly…. i hope some dau the button min, max and close inline with the thrash bin button ok...
-
Random crashes here too. Many startup crashes but not only. OSX 10.9.5. First build that unstable for me.
-
Seems to only hit some users. We're on it.
-
I now installed it on my Surface Pro 3, the top part sucks on Hi-DPI…. the text on page and context menu is clear, but the icons and text inside the address bar are blurried.
Also, the icon disappear from the taskbar once I run Vivaldi... (Windows 8.1, both Windows and Vivaldi are 64bit).
-
I can't edit the search engines. It doesn't change anything for that session and when i restart vivaldi all search engines are removed and i have to reset them.
-
My Vivaldi can only import "Bookmarks Bar" items from Opera 15+ and not the other Bookmarks.
Can anyone else confirm this ?
Also is there a plan for middle-clicking on a bookmarks bar item and it is opened in a new background tab ? (like normal middle clicking on a speed dial item)
-
and… alienating their users.
When Opera invalidated my my.opera id and required me to sign up for yet another third-party service only to occasionally comment on their blog, it was the final push for me not to consider myself part of Opera's community anymore. -
I really hope you won't abandon Vivaldi them for improving the blog.
Disquis work, and works a lot better then this. For example, it notifies you only if you desire so: earlier this morning I made a new post, and checked "Notify me of followup comments", and I am getting many email I am not interested in (like your).
Disquis notifies only replies to your comment (if you desire, you can still be notified of the entire thread). -
Import issue is known and being worked on.
-
In the Vivaldi flags, there is a quick-close tab option which seems to makr all tabs faster for me.
-
I'm having an issue (mac) where if the active tab is any tab except for the one on the far right or the far left, and I use cmd+t to open a new tab, 2 new tabs open simultaneously.
Other than that, looking good! Thanks!

Thanks !

Yeah, this is known and being worked on, too.
