Easter Snapshot 1.0.142.32
-
auto-updates is only available in windows 32-bit for now.
-
Context menu is broken
-
Spatial navigation does not work on most sites ?
-
edit:feedback for tilling change: tiling should be possible by clicking on the status bar icon as well.
(…) it should get activated when more than one tab is getting selected.
Or when selected tab is a part of a stack.
-
My right click has broken on win7 x64 not sure what I did, mouse gestures work here though.
Edit: Only new tab gesture seems to work now.
-
Which OS are you on? On OS X 10.10.2 (on a late 2013 rMBP), it's acting quick and responsive for me.
-
Yeah we are looking into it
but Ctrl+left is an important shorcut to go back you shouldn´t delete it.
-
please don´t delete the shortcut Ctrl+left arrow key, because it is important to go back
-
Can we get tabs with pages from the same domain grouped together?
-
True, true. Good point.
-
"Up" gesture refreshes the page. However I don't know is it the target planned gesture for Refresh or it will be changed. Although the benefit is that it is less effort than up-down, the more preferable option might be:
- Up gesture - can be changed to mean Stop (I think it was like that in Opera?),
- Up-down gesture - to be added for Reload.
-
No worries, it will not be deleted. The point is to disable it when you are in a text field or in the address bar.
-
"Group similar tabs to stack" is working like that, isn't it?
-
Thanks for fixing CMD+Z to reopen closed tabs on Mac. Mouse gestures are still broken for me, though.
-
True. So actually there is another solution - a perfect one.
Make the tabs touch the top edge of the screen and the stacked tabs' little sub-bars should be part of the stacked tab - indented into it from the top.:idea::idea:This will also provide a consistent user experience - because no matter if a tab is stacked or a single one, you can switch to it by clicking at the top edge of the screen.
Even currently there is enough pixels of space between the favicon/tab title and the tab's top border, so there is even no need to make the tab higher. But even if it is required, by a pixel or two, it is worth it from the ergonomics perspective.

Firstly - actually, the convention in Google Chrome is that the Find box is on the right.
Secondly - the address bar is actually in the middle, only the text in it is left-aligned - and so it is inside the Find box (I agree it would be strange to center a text within a Find box).Putting the text box in the center makes more sense in terms in ergonomics, because you have it right in front of your eyes, as you sit in the center of the computer screen and naturally have your sight directed there. As yet one more example, even this blog and comments here are centered, not aligned to the left.
Lastly, I would argue that once you switch to your new browser (Vivaldi) and use it for some little time, you will get used to the Find box to be in the center, so the initial minor confusion will be soon gone forever.

How do you know the bug No.??
When I submit a bug report, a page displays only with information (and I receive no confirmation e-mail either):
BUG REPORTED
Thank you for helping us make Vivaldi better! -
I cannot confirm it was fixed. Maybe you want to check again?
Which version and OS do you use? I am on:
Win7 Proffessional 64-bit, Vivaldi 32-bit. -
I needed to restart the browser to unblock FB pages and after that I was unable to replicate it within a few attempts I took.
From what I can remember how it happened is that I pressed a Friend request notification at the top bar (there was one unread awaiting) when the chat was still not loaded. Somehow the two scripts might got collided, which might require some very precise timing to replicate.

Which system are you using? For me Vivaldi is quite snappy. Of course I hope for more performance improvements but it is definitely usable and I cannot complain.
Win7 Proffessional 64-bit, Vivaldi 32-bit.
