Solved How get dark splash screen in Linux Mint?
-
@Dancer18 I think that is what is happening (and requested by almost everyone back in the days) by default nowadays, the browser switches the theme of the webpage if it supports it as well, except you specifically set it in the Settings or via one of those old flags people used to use. (Which makes sense to me btw, if I use a dark theme I use it to protect my eyes so I 'd want that "everywhere" and not be flashbanged by pure white webpages)

I think it would be best to create a new thread

@Dancer18 Had you checked if you enabled GTK in Vivaldis internal page
chrome://settings

@Dancer18 you are too quick, wait for a mod response first
. Also why in "General"? I would delete it tbh
-
@npro I misunderstood it. Now it's deleted.

I have forked this troubleshooting topic from the Feature Requests topic, even if forking topics is a right PITA with NodeBB. Also moved it to Linux.
Please continue here.
Also, I don't know how many times I need to repeat this - DO NOT delete the first post in a topic.
This will NOT delete your topic and causes confusion for other users as well as unnecessary work for moderators.
If you want your topic deleted - FLAG it for deletion. -

@Dancer18 OT, I just saw from that post of yours the theme you are using in Mint, https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/themes/view/Cinnamox-Kashmir-Blue, it looks pretty good, unique and comfortable I'd say, good choice, heh. (except for the transparent panel centered at the bottom, I would probably use the default solid one -but ok I suppose the author tries to show all in one screenshot-). Enough with the soulless extreme flatness plague I'd say, that look has to come back.
Tough choice now again for @TravellinBob
, you don't have such flexibility in Zorin iirc.
-
@npro Yes, I'm using a solid panel. This theme - Cinnamox-Kashmir-Blue - is my theme for some years now. It still works, except with one or two qt-coded apps for which I needed a workaround.
-
@npro Not really. I've spent a lot of time this past year comparing the two, reading user testimonials, watching YouTube videos of varying quality. And poring over the installation instructions from the respective teams. I would honestly be perfectly happy with either, but I've settled (?) on Zorin because the installation process looks that little bit more straightforward that Mint. For a rank, non-technical amateur like me, this is very important.
But I'm open minded enough to be proved wrong......

@TravellinBob Hah, that questionmark was all the money
, anyway always nice to hear about your technical "explorations" Bob
