My guess, just by installing it from Chrome web store
Oh it's the same version on the store? I thought it was a tailored free version made for Vivaldi only. OK
-
@iAN-CooG I am not 100% sure here
-
My understanding is that if you install it through Vivaldi you can use your Vivaldi account to sign in to it rather than needing a Proton account. Other than that, it's the same extension.
You can always add the button back to a toolbar as it is present in the "Customize Toolbar" option to install that version
-
@ian-coog: You can enable it again from Prefs/Privacy and Security/ Enable Proton VPN and it should fetch it

@Ruarí Hi Ruari,
Nope I am in Canada and the Free Proton VPN was logged in Netherlands. My PC is in French (Canadian) and I use youtube.ca that in any cases probably log into the USA. So the Japanese Ads were not expected something like one on eight tiles where in Japanese offering Jobs, games etc. So, something was happening outside my control and my two antivirus and one firewall.I cannot explain as I did scan twice with different s/w for malwares and could not find anything. Again for me it came from the VPN connected in The Netherlands. Therefore a compromised node on the VPN or the VPN is itself compromised. Not funny in both cases.
Cheers
Diphbda
ps. is there a way to change the user name I made a mistake way back and my fingers added a b in the name.
-
it's very funny but here, in Russia, I have to use another VPN to access Proton web site.
it's servers are also blocked, so I can't use it -
is there a data limit on the vpn ive been running it all day and its still trucking, amazing job if not, i have a paid vpn but wanted to give it a fair try it seems great

Address Field Suggestions: There is still a doubling. Only the first one is functional (the one outlined in red).
-
On Debian Linux the ProtonVPN loads incredible slow and it refuses to login. Not sure where to post this
Looking forward to this functionality as a long time Proton customer and Vivaldi user.

@Thot
Hi, this is fixed but was not ready for this snapshot.@eluxzen
Hi, can you open a new thread for the problem, please?
The snapshot threads get's closed often very quickly.
Add all information, do you have a Proton VPN account already, it logs in automatically for me.
Error message and/or screen shot.Cheers, mib

The Vivaldi Password Manager Shortcut on the Menu Bar still doesn't work.
-
@mib2berlin: EXCELLENT well that incontrovertibly places vivaldi as the best featured browser, hands down
-
Icon-Set Subtle in Compact Mode has Icons from the present Theme (Vivaldi) in the Tiling-Pop-Up.

I don't need a vpn so I removed it from my extensions.
Now I am curious, if one day I'll decide I want to try it, how do I reinstall it?Does it not re-install if you add the VPN button back to the address bar? (It's in the button set if you try to customise...)
I'm not interested in VPN, so haven't played with it myself.
-
@mossman If you disable VPN in Settings → Privacy, button will be removed.
You have to remove the extension proton VPN in extension Manager. -
@Ruarí
I shoulda been more patient... Now part of my repo.Many Thanks to you and the Vivaldi Team.

You have to remove the extension proton VPN in extension Manager.The question was about installing, not uninstalling...
-
@mossman Click on VPN button installs the extension.

In non VPN related issues, feed shortcut to mark as read and go to next is not working for me.
