Vivaldi 7.2: Speedy and smart, a serious update.

How does one enable the new currency widget? I don't seem to have it. I do, however, have two copies of the settings button, one on top of the other.
Also, could you please bring back the ability to open an entire bookmarks folder by middle clicking it? That also stopped working with the update.

Apparently, that's a bug.
So it might get fixed in the near future. Unless the devs decide to focus on some asinine feature first.

And of course, it didn't remember me, again...

Is there a fix for the non-working automatic sienna theme based on the system one in Linux, non-working native gestures back and forth in history with two fingers and Web Serial API support? Or... Will be?
-
An hour with the update and I am already going crazy. Why would you break a thing that's working? My address bar keeps showing me my previous searches and I can't find an option to fix this.
Previous versions had a simple option about what to see on drop-downs. You removed this option and advertising the new feature as "you are in charge." Okay, cool, but, no?
-
I get you guys are excited to show off the new update but please for the love of god, stop adding new bookmarks to my browser. I don't want a temu bookmark, if I wanted one I would've added it myself. And stop putting stuff in the speed-dial, I don't want it there, I remove it every 3 updates and then there's a new one.
Also, the text in my address bar is darker now (against a dark background). Can there at least be a setting for it to actually match the foreground color in the theme, rather than just picking something several shades darker? My eyesight is bad enough as is.

@jon Nice release - Tx!
-
Thank you for this update and keeping up different browser experience.
-
@asgatlat: It's been fixed internally already. Hopefully it makes its way into a minor update soon.
-
@jyusensei: That setting controls whether the addressbar can be used to search without the need to use search nicknames
-
@skonuksal: I believe bringing back that setting is planned

@JyuSensei said in Vivaldi 7.2: Speedy and smart, a serious update.:
Even if "Search in Address Field" is disabled, if you type a search nickname, then space, then something (anything) it triggers search.
The option in settings is not really clear, as a unexperienced user i would think this will disable the search with a nick, too.
A usability issue.
Report to bug tracker page and let developers decide if this is a bug. -
@auxce Thanks for the hint, but I don't have those panels. I will try it with deleting all the existing panels.
-
In the address bar... Can we please get URLs in their own column again?
I'm not yet sure what I think of the new dropdown with fewer entries, but what I do know is that I'm seriously annoyed by this particular change.

Are you testing in Windows? What about the speed of the interface animation ??? It gets worse and worse.
I'll give you an example that you can repeat:
Compare two assemblies 7.2.3597.3 and 7.2.3621.637.2.3597.3
7.2.3621.63

@Capushon I can not open the GIF as fastpic to scam and fraud users. Bad image hoster!
-
@midoni: Wouldn't typing a few more letters to narrow down the results be faster than trying to sift through 100s of results?
I guess if you often don't know exactly what you are looking for there's a case to be made there.
Don't get me wrong, I still think there should be an option to see more results. I realize different people work in different ways.

Thanks for this new release! I much appreciated the possibility to turn on feed reader independently from email. It would be great in future to have the chance to activate also calendar and task, without necessarily using the (hovewer excellent) internal email client.
