The Official Vivaldi.net Bug Thread (Not for Vivaldi browser!)
-
sgdgandco:
To clarify, the BSODs, random reboots and probably even the "Opera Needs to Restart" messages have nothing to do with Vivaldi. Those are totally courtesy of my computer. In fact, today I had to perform a Windows Reinstall on my computer because yesterday afternoon it finally reached the point of not being able to finish a bootup without throwing a BSOD.Anyway, though, if you look around on the Forums, it's not just me who has brought up the issue of wayyy too many and too frequent RE-Log Ins are being required. So something definitely needs fixing there.

Can you please find some way of removing my notifications once they have been seen by me?
It is about the most annoying thing on the forum. -
The place needs an English language spell-check. US English isn't good enough.
Why does my profile have to appear on every thread I start? It isn't as if it was unavailable in the proper place for it.
-
When I use Photoshop, it's preferable that I shut down Opera Browser lest my computer throw a BSOD.
I'm getting the same login requirements to you and I have a perfectly stable Magaea KDE OS, running on a reasonably fast 32 bit motherboard.
I have to delete downloads in my browser (Firefox) or other downloads will take forever.
You may have similar storage capacity emptying requirements. I don't know how they would cause a BSOD but an old Windows box could just be plain hazardous to any full sections. Try clearing downloads, emptying cookies and the rest of it.Most of the things CCleaner or whatever reliable registry cleaner you have for your machine you surely know about.
I realise it is pointless to try to tempt you into this century with a small Linux OS so I will refrain from trying.

I concur that the Profile definitely does not belong where it is right now. It should either be in the Sidebar … or have it be hidden and have there be a Profile / About Button so that anyone who wants to see it can do so at the mere click of a Button.
Right now the way it is where it is, it disrupts the flow of the Post. And in the process, it gives it a cheesy LOOK similar to when one goes to Tech Forums and sandwiched in between the pertinent Software Apps or Info that you go there for ... there'll be Ads for this or that and / or Malware that is all nice and ready to be clicked on.
So yeah, I vote for relocation of the Profile.

I agree …. needs to be done some changes to improve vivaldi.

Got an error message when trying to register as a new user without uploading an Avatar picture. Shouldnt it be possible to register without uploading an Avatar, or possibly could you provide "default" Avatars in order to make it easier to register?

Hello and welcome! I just tested the sign-up process and could not repeat the problem. What browser and platform were you using and can you explain a little more how the error appeared?
-
Debbie:
Using Opera 12.16 on Windows 7 32 bit.
Got the error after clicking next while not having chosen an Avatar. clicking back and uploading an Avatar solved the problem.

joar, it is technically possible to sign up without adding an avatar, and get this one). So I suspect the problem you got has roots elsewhere. Please let me know (preferably via PM so I don't miss it) if you encounter any other oddities during your visits. Thanks for the report.

Ran into a problem when I tried to edit a blog post. The text appeared for a split second, then it vanished and the screen grayed out.
Works now. Whatever you did, thanks!

Shawn, I'm having the same problem. You can view the rest of the site but not the frontpage/stream, is that correct?

GeekK, thanks. That's exactly what I was seeing as well (and others were too, apparently). It was a bug and it's squashed now. :woohoo:

[](javascript:void(0);) ```[Do you see the bug? Yes, I consider a href="javascript:void(0);" as a bug. You could directly link to vivaldi.net/community/conversations and attach a click handler with preventDefault to do what you want and overwrite the URL if JS is on (Is overwriting really necessary?) and the real URL would provide a nice fallback is JS is off. Seeing the link cursor|pointer when hovering over the globe, the person or the envelope with JS off and then getting no action when I click on one of them is not the expected behavior.](javascript:void(0);)
