Got an error message when trying to register as a new user without uploading an Avatar picture. Shouldnt it be possible to register without uploading an Avatar, or possibly could you provide "default" Avatars in order to make it easier to register?
Hello and welcome! I just tested the sign-up process and could not repeat the problem. What browser and platform were you using and can you explain a little more how the error appeared?
-
Debbie:
Using Opera 12.16 on Windows 7 32 bit.
Got the error after clicking next while not having chosen an Avatar. clicking back and uploading an Avatar solved the problem.
-
joar, it is technically possible to sign up without adding an avatar, and get this one). So I suspect the problem you got has roots elsewhere. Please let me know (preferably via PM so I don't miss it) if you encounter any other oddities during your visits. Thanks for the report.

Ran into a problem when I tried to edit a blog post. The text appeared for a split second, then it vanished and the screen grayed out.
Works now. Whatever you did, thanks!

Shawn, I'm having the same problem. You can view the rest of the site but not the frontpage/stream, is that correct?

Same thing here, only getting this code:
[debbie](/community/profile/debbie) created a new forum post in

GeekK, thanks. That's exactly what I was seeing as well (and others were too, apparently). It was a bug and it's squashed now. :woohoo:

everything all messed up on vivaldi.net the community page is gone everything is all mess up on vivaldi.net
-
Shawn, this was a nasty bug, but it's fixed now.

yay

[](javascript:void(0);) ```[Do you see the bug? Yes, I consider a href="javascript:void(0);" as a bug. You could directly link to vivaldi.net/community/conversations and attach a click handler with preventDefault to do what you want and overwrite the URL if JS is on (Is overwriting really necessary?) and the real URL would provide a nice fallback is JS is off. Seeing the link cursor|pointer when hovering over the globe, the person or the envelope with JS off and then getting no action when I click on one of them is not the expected behavior.](javascript:void(0);)

I happen to get this pretty little bug when commenting on blog post comments…
-
Clicking the "View Reply" button links for posts in the feed at https://vivaldi.net/ often don't jump to the right forum post in a thread.<br /><br />For example:<br /><br /><pre>
https://vivaldi.net/forum/browsers/144-who-uses-bookmarks-anyway#1777
</pre><br />doesn't jump <a href="https://vivaldi.net/forum/browsers/144-who-uses-bookmarks-anyway?start=40#1777" target="_blank">this post</a>.<br /><br />The view reply links don't work when the forum thread has more than one page and the post isn't on the first page (because the element's id in the fragment identifier doesn't exist on the loaded page (the first)).<br /><br />Looks like the problem is that the view reply links are missing the start=40 (40 in this case as the post is on the 3rd page) in the query string. -
Unexpected error
I tried to upload a WebM picture and got this error message (twice):Sorry, but the file that you tried to upload did not reach the server. It's probably because of some restrictions on the server. Please try again.
I think that will be a disappointment to many who expect support for open standards, but it is of course not something done deliberately by anybody at Vivaldi.

WebP (WebM is video) isn't widely supported ATM, so I don't recommend using it just yet.

Not for production pages where you want to sell goodss etc. - but I must admit, that I really don't care for that in e.g. my blog when I write about such things or when the original image is a webP image.
The image uploader recodes the images anyway, so it should not be a big problem to provide a fallback for browsers that don't support it - and if it still is:
There are many really good people working for vivaldy: Just make it happen.
… or at least prompt the user and offer a service:
"This image can not be viewed with old browsers. Do you want us to convert to JPG for you?" -
Greetings,
I did not pay much attention the first time this occurred but as it has happened again I thought I'd mention a possible bug:
I'd "Quoted" something in a Forum topic and changed my mind. Clicked on Cancel but nothing happened. Deleted the comment and backed out but was left with a blank comment.
Noticed the same happening again today. Cancel did nothing.Anyone else notice this behaviour?
(Opera 12.16 for Linux on Mageia3, Intel Dual Core laptop)

The administrator has disabled public write access.
Here is a vivaldi bug:
"The administrator has disabled public write access"That should read:
"Join Vivaldi now and post, it's FREE."
Also a "No Advertising" sign might be attractive too.

I haven't noticed that because I haven't used Vivaldi enough. I just copied a chat from Google and found it munged until munged.
So there is definitely something wrong somewhere.
