I've lost all my tabs, it really sucks
-
@thobonho when this has happened to me after an upgrade I've been able to restore them from somewhere in the menu, under Window -> Closed tabs or something. Sorry, I can't remember where exactly. But I definitely didn't lose history, that sounds like a profile bug. Are you definitely on the same profile that you were before?
-
@thobonho Check Window Panel for closed tabs.
Next time use Session Panel with activated automatic backup.
-
This is a really buggy release.
Getting another issue, whereby, when I scroll a webpage it scrolls the tab bar, despite the mouse being on the webpage.
-
7.0 looks fantastic. Really appreciate all the new features and the new look is a welcome refresh.
Like Workspaces I can see Dashboard becoming near essential!
Couple of queries around that...
- Is there way to have the dashboard presented every time Vivaldi starts up?
- Somewhat related: the Gesture to open a new tab. I don't think there is a way to do this in browser already so I guess I'm wondering about the possibility...but it might be nice to have a feature that looks for any start Pages/Dashboard open already and moves to that instead of opening yet another Start Page? Would save a lot of clutter as I work.
But yeah, I'm loving this as usual.

@thomasp Thank you This at least helped me tweak the look into a more edible one, although I wish I didn't have to go for compact and square just to have actual tabs in a browser...
All these pills we are served in software today makes me sick (pun intended ). I quite understand the need to follow trends, and all the cool ones are popping pills, but I prefer to stay sober and organized most of the time. That does however not mean that I don't appreciate rounded corners on buttons, inputs and dropdowns. And even on tabs as long as they are still attached to the page. If you tear a tab off the page it is no longer a tab, it's just a torn off piece of a page (normally referred to as garbage; - unless you're a forensic investigator).
If anyone was offended by this, please accept my apologies. I meant no harm. I just needed to vent my frustrations. Let me repeat the most important sentence in this post:
Thank you -
@dpn Cannot reproduce. Everything is fine here

Hi,
Check here

@Aaron I have 3 Pinned Tab Groups, and 4 individual pinned tabs. Along with a load of normal tabs and tab groups. I have Accordion Tabs set to not auto-expand.
Two of the individual tabs are Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar, when I click on the Today button in Google Calendar it jumps to the tab to the left.
The Thumbnails appear at the bottom of the application instead of below the pinned tab.
Not too sure what you are expecting to be able to replicate from a clean config.

I tried the Snapshot few days ago and I really liked it and switched to it after using MS Edge for nearly 1.5 years or so. Also tried other browsers but didn't like them. With every new build of MS Edge, they add something annoying or something to share data or both (yes I disabled them). I used Vivaldi for a long time before I switched to Edge. Really love the new UI and all the customizations. Thanks Vivaldi Team.
-
@dpn I can not reproduce it.
Could be related to your tab bar settings and/or a modification? -
Updated on Q4OS (Debian 5.6 Aquarius). For me Vivaldi is loading by far much faster than before.
-
@DoctorG I don't have any modifications, if it's tab bar settings then we have a bug.
-
The tabs are too rounded in new default theme. It’s not look nice when there are a lot of them (try to open 30+) - and the original idea is that Vivaldi is suitable for working with many tabs.
-
@dpn If you find a way to reproduce it with a fresh test profile, then create a extra thread for such bug. That is a better place.

@maximvasiljev See "Restore Flat Tabs" at https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/787672

I have a lot of errors in Windows. I can't use Vivaldi in this state. For example: In Home assistant page, when I click some icon in the menu, vivaldi jumps to other pinned tab.
Many scroll bars don't work any more with mouse. I rebooted my laptop three times and It keeps the same way. -

Yep got the same issue.
-
@dpn Please report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker, include as much detail as possible.
Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail. Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better.

@doctorg: I have created a post, sorry for a bit harsh comment here, I was in a bad mood, the browser itself is still the best in the world
