Vivaldi launches its first beta

I know we all want those great integrated features back! One thing to keep in mind is that many browsers today are resource hogs (like the one i am using right now), A slower more measured release cycle with a focus on memory management would be a welcome departure from todays slapped together software. I wish this company the best!

Is there hope for change that Vivaldi will ever run in my Macbook (Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.6.8). Because of poor graphics adapter I cannot upgrade to newer OS X but still I can install and use latest 64-bit version of Chrome. (I know this is old hardware but it's still quite fast after I upgraded to SSD-drive.)
-
GJ, looking forward to it.
-
Hurray! Well done guys… it's impressive how far you've come in such a short amount of time.
-
Developers site My guess is you can I have same situation but Win 7 Core 2 with SSD put in with lots of Driver updates no bios cause Alienware never had one for it. I load it up so I may be the only one but I think you probably could. For sure a little later you can. One guy that loves to thumbs down me will probably do this also. I have 8 meg of Mem. If it works you'll never want another cause these guys are good.

That's what I'm saying…...
What I mean is that it's better to have them support Vivaldi on their side than using an interim solution which are extensions. And yes, I believe the team is regularly trying to communicate with WhatsApp about it. -

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Do you mean that in order to make it work Xmarks must change their extension? I don't think this will happen since I'm using the Chrome extension (there's no Vivaldi specific extension). But if it works for Chrome why is Vivaldi different?
Thanks. -
I disappointed in "Notes" It is NOT what it was in the old Opera: "Copy to Notes" and "paste from Notes". I have use this function to copy and store email addresses, card numbers, etc, and paste anywhere in a webform. It was always at hand in right-click menu
Now, the Vivaldi Notes is completely different. It stores url (with some additional notes), and pastes it. It is a simple bookmark engine, nothing more! :0Please, bring me the old Notes from old Opera!

Or, set Cache Level, as in Opera 12.xxx, as I've been requesting forever.
-
Including Form Completion?
-
Why have I been experiencing THIS problem in some of the recent Builds;
When I type in, say Privacy Badger, hit Enter …........Nothing; No problem (ever),
with other Browsers. -
Also, Scrolling Cursor still does not return to original position after Reloading page.
-
For the love of god, just add favicons to bookmark folders already! Is it that difficult to add such a basic feature??
-
What's with the bottom bar - show panel, page tiling, etc.? Don't need that.
Logging into MyYahoo, after submit, the page remains blank with the following URL: https://my.yahoo.com/closeloginpopup.php. OTOH, going then to MyYahoo from another Home page shows it signed in.

I'm sorry a joke.
Vivaldi BETA Congratulations! , Vivaldi Team thank you thanks. -
Congratulations! I just realised that "Background tabs loading indicator" in not an available feature for a long time. Why?
-
Some observations I made:
- slow and jerky scrolling in F2 menu
- [backspace] and [ctrl]+ don't work (you already know that I guess)
- white URL field in private mode (with dark theme). Is this intentional? I liked the striped appearance much better (some TPs ago)!
- I need a possibility to change the position of pages within a tab stack (controllable in the tab itself and in the main window and in the previews)
Looking forward to M3 and speed optimizations. Thanks guys!

I have to admit, This revolutionary browser will be be next phenomenon in web.
The only dark side is the fact that Vivaldi is not free software. I really want to know is there any hope that Vivaldi will become free software or open source? -
Experienced a hang with ~30 lightweight tabs open, no other intensive apps running. Only happened once so far (Linux64, KDE4)
