Snapshot 1.0.303.37 - Beta Candidate with Thumbnail improvements
-
Ok ..thanks again Ktulx
-
The speed dial cannot display more than 4 columns even when set to 6.
It would be convenient if a right click on a background tab could display it side by side with the current tab. The current implementation need first to stack them up and to display them by right clicking and choosing the item in the menu. It's a bit convoluted.
-
It's nice to see yet more former O employees popping up : )
-
The number of speed dial thumbs that will fit depends on the size of the window and the zoom level of the UI (which can be changed in Settings)
Tabs can be tiled by using Ctrl + Click then shortcut Ctrl F9.
-
the new (informative) auto-installer window in one word: superb :!:
-
I have i5 4670k and 8GB with 270x. It is not due to hardware utilization.
Problem is even on 720p@30 or 24fps. -
The little bug is a known issue. There are lots of problems while generating thumbnails in Blink.
They are working on it (and did a great work on the SD and bookmarks thumbnails), but there is still work to do on the tab's ones (and tab switcher). -
I think it's not an issue of Vivaldi (the browser).
But indeed, the forum was displayed without CSS. Seems fixed now. -
So the scroll bar with vertical tabs overflow will be attended to, yes?
-
Yepp. OK now (so how can Opera display it correct - without CSS )
-
Cant find any mentions before, but I see that lazy loading is now implemented. And its f**king great Thank you so much for saving our RAM.
-
I don't want to change the zoom level of all the pages. Only the zoom level of the speed dial. Just like Opera 12.
Thanks for the Ctrl trick. But the short cut ctrl F9 does not work for me. I have to right click and select an item on the menu. Still more complicated than simply right click.
There is still the problem of the thumbs of the speed dial. Some of them are lost after close the browser.

BANANA!!!
-
It appears Vivaldi now remembers its window-width when closed and reopened. Excellent, for those of us on wide-screen monitors who don't run the window maximized!!
-
Free memory is better but still 100% CPU after awhile.
-
I was wondering why not put info in there? And then BAM … They did. Awesome!
-
Can anyone else add to this experience:-
I have just started receiving 'dubious', un-solicited emails, referencing vivaldi.
This IS new, has anyone else experienced this?
Is there 'information leakage' occurring?

Ditto here have no idea if so but lately have been getting a ton of same. I blocked IP addresses then had to go to URL because they started using *.party, *.win, *.domnload on and on. -
How can this go to Beta, when the Scroll Cursor, still doesn't return to its position after
Reload; Still no option to set Cache Level; No Form Completion etc., All of which, were
standard in Opera 12.xxx -
You do not need to zoom the page to fit more thumbnails on speed dial, you need to zoom the interface in Tools, Settings, Appearance.
The Ctrl F9 shortcut is the default, but it doesn't work for me either.

I'm very excited. Vivaldi now works better then Firefox on my Linux! The final version definitely will be my default browser. I hope until then you'll fix most of bugs, eg the ability to open multiple selected bookmarks or not working "remove the upper edge of the tab bar" after browser start on linux (on windows 8.1 works fine).
And I dream (after release the final version) that the next will contains mail and RSS client and synchronization (bookmarks, notes, RSS…) But this is still a long way to go.
Now I keep my fingers crossed for polished 1.0.
