Adjusting item numbers in URL drop down / More adblock compatiblity work – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3658.3

@Pathduck LOL. Previous poster had not added a joke smilie.
I do not want Leet items. The dropdown would kill my monitor case at bottom and URLs will fall down on my office desk. What a mess. Imagine my cat would chase and eat these poor little Urrrls.

@DoctorG Well, turns out it actually does work:
Look at that insane scrollbar:
In Preferences:
"dropdown_size": 1337,
Basically, hacking the HTML will allow changing the amount returned
Obviously not a good idea with so many returned results, I notice a big lag when searching the first letters...

I think 15 is enough!

Improved compatiblity with ad block rules (VB-115878)
Is there a list of supported rule types somewhere?
-
@sedative29rus Some rulese are tested and listed at
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/78622/improve-adblock-syntax-security-and-show-invalid-unsupported-filters -
This is not how it works. This scheme is of no use to anyone.
What is needed is to be informed of new lists that uBO or Adguard use that can be incorporated into the adblocker.

It didn't start in this build, but with a cold start of Vivaldi on Windows 11 23H2, before Vivaldi opens, I get a full black screen (or at least black, maximized window) with a decent-sized, white rectangle in the middle of it for a few seconds. With a warm start, I only see that for a split second or not at all. I'm pretty sure it started when the splash screen was added. The actual "Made with love in Europe" page still shows after that though.
-
Hi, I still have the problem, that my sidebar stays closed when I start Vivaldi. Even if I open it and close Vivaldi after that, it is closed again when I start Vivaldi.

About "Scrolling switch workspace":
- The translated text becomes untranslated again
- A very uncomfortable bug. When scrolling to switch the workspace, the currently selected tab in the workspace will also switch to the next one.
- Since scrolling only switches the workspace instead of continuously switching tabs in the workspace, why can't it be possible to switch only between stacks instead of continuously switching tabs in the stack when scrolling to switch tab stacks?(Ref. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/103611/enhanced-management-of-two-level-tab-stacks?_=1734581596157)

Increasing the search items has actually made it worse. When set to 20, half of the returns are now search suggestions, which are on top of the bookmarks that have the
prioritized
option selected. This is even worse with history selected because the remaining space is divided between them. (Why is so much priority being given(forced) to search suggestions?)With Direct Match selected it's on top of bookmarks and history meaning there are 10 rows of suggestions that always take priority over bookmarks and history.
If I type "viv", internal pages will be suggested at the bottom meaning only 4 bookmarks and 4 history items are being suggested out of 20.

This is the reason why I turned on search suggestions only the a nickname. Searching is possible anyway, but without other suggestions, in this case. With a searchnick it has now more suggestions, and only for the search, not mixed up with bookmark searches for instance.

My OS is Windows 10 22H2, and it's been the same for me for quite a while.

We might max the suggestions to 5

Did the experiment for the new address bar omni drop down get removed? I actually liked it ^^

the setting in experiments is removed because now only the omnibox is available, the old address bar is gone.

What has been removed is the experiment with the old addressbar. Optionally the new or the old address bar, with dropdown. Now only the new omni-addressbar can be used.

This feature doesn't exist anymore or do I have to enable it somewhere?
Not that I know of. You only can „push“ one finding to the top of the dropdown by pressing this downarrow on the find:
