Election depression is real

Something to Cure Depression
Blank Space (Donald's Version) - A Randy Rainbow Song Parody.

Google, Apple, Jeff Besos (Amason) and some of the major American newspapers are now probably already pandering to Trump & Co.
https://www.
tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/tech-konzerne-wahl-usa-100.htmlElon Musk has already done this before.
He will know why. -
Giving away millions has probably paid off for him.
"Trump victory makes Musk 21 billion dollars richer"
https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/technologie/musk-tesla-trump-100.htmlWith his handling of Twitter, he has probably at least qualified as an advisor to Trump.
What's next??
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as US Secretary of Health and Human Services?
www.tagesschau.de/ausland/uswahl/trump-team-namen-100.htmlYou just can't believe it.

Why on earth not?
He is not an Antivaxer, just anti vaccine mandates, and in favour of proper double-blind trials. Follow the science, not the FUD.
-
@Pesala RFK actually sounds like an amazing choice to me.
What he wants to do for food safety sounds pretty awesome, as well as the vaccine mandate stuff.
-
@mathieulefrancois Yes, it seems like he might be OK, though I don’t follow USA politics very closely. Elon Musk is a technology genius, who I follow out of interest in green technology, and a long-term Democrat who switched sides because of what the extreme left were doing to destroy the US. He bought Twitter to protect free speech, and now the ugly truth about the corruption of the Biden Administration has been revealed.

So you are steeped in disinformation as well. Its reach is nothing short of astounding.

What makes you think that? Maybe you are the one who is steeped in misinformation?
-
@DoctorG
Well said !!
-
@Pesala As I've made my living for 44 years determining what's true, after 3900 field and classroom hours training in how to research and how to observe, that's unlikely. One of the primary skills in this field is detecting and discarding misinformation/disinformation, even when it comes from multiple "sources." Some things presented as true cannot be true when all relevant information is known. And that is my skillset, and my profession. So, no. I am not steeped in misinformation/disinformation. In 44 years, I have literally never failed to ascertain which out of multiple claims was true or false. Not once. Were it to happen, it would be a career-wrecker. Certain things can remain unknown and, when such is the case, one has to accurately point it out. But a majority of things can be known, and that's what I'm paid for.

This is an interesting thread.
However I strongly disagree that moderators, ambassadors, sopranos of Vivaldi involve in politics in Vivaldi forums and openly express which political side their loyalties lie. I for exemple on the side of people not dying in senseless wars - take whatever it means to you! This forum is the flagship compononent of Vivaldi as a product. This is the place where users from all walks of life join and seek help or want to hangout. Then what do they see? You come along, he comes along, she comes along and pour bloody politics all over.
First of all: Don't do this !
Second of all: peace and solidarity -
@Ayespy That’s what you want to make us believe. On the other hand you are a Cyclops, so I’m not sure whether I can trust you. You envy our ability to take a look at difficult situations three dimensional. You plot to make us all blind.
-
@iqaluit I 100% agree.
I like this forum because it's an escape from politics.

At other times when a user starts to give political opinions they are called to order and often the threads are locked.
Let's be consistent. Either you can talk about whatever you want about politics or you simply can't talk at all.
This thread that @mikeyb2001 started (which doesn't surprise me) shows the passion that the character unleashes from both sides.
I read that in a few weeks there are going to be elections in Germany. If the XXX wins, will those who don't agree be allowed to say they feel Sad, Depressed and Scared or a silly thing like that?
-
@luetage Not really, Reality exists in at least four dimensions. If I perceive it and you don't, it's of little concern to me. I've no cause for envy. As to how I determine where to cast my vote, I study the candidates and their platforms, and vote for the side which promotes the most-human-survival-related agenda. I don't root for parties, personalities, loyalty or cults. I vote for the side least likely to destroy human lives and liberties. But I'm very concerned about the numbers of my countryfolk who believe deeply in complete fiction and worse, are willing to act on that belief.

@Pesala, Xitter is turning in a core of fascism and disinformation, don't confuse it. Musk is an egomaniac with nothing of "green" and less a genius, he only has enough money to pay for such and for the tech. If Musk had been democratic and so concerned about the environment, he would not have made these happy little jumps like an idiot around Trump, making a fool of himself, around his Führer, who in his first acts is going to overthrow all the achievements against climatechange, returning to fossil fuels, apart from ending the rest of the freedoms, laboral and social advances, the few that the US has achieved. Maybe they are going to be the last free elections in the US.
USA never had an extreme left in goverments. -
@iqaluit
Why shouldn't volunteers like Moderators, Sopranos and Ambassdors be able to speak their minds freely here?Oh, Vivaldi team members can if they want to.
I don't think this is "damaging to business" at all, quite the opposite.
Especially when it comes to such important, world-shaking things as the election of the American president.
Look at how freely @jon speaks on social.vivaldi.net.
He has submitted, every participant here is entitled to do so.
We are not here on Twitter (X), Facebock or anywhere else. And what a beating he got when Vivaldi went to the "radical left" 'Mastodon'.
And where does 'Vivaldi Mastodon' stand today?
And how has Vivaldi developed overall?Yes, also thanks to all of us here.
@jon never tires of making this clear.
This isn't just a rant for me.
He knows it's true.We just have to be careful not to go for each other's throats when we have contrary political opinions.
Not to make the same mistake as Trump and large sections of the American Republicans.
Democracy thrives on opposing opinions and discourse.

Of course they can.
I don't see what would be silly about that either.
-
@ingolftopf, agree, but this go further, not a gainst different opinions of democratic people, but the free world and democracy against fascism. Misunderstood tolerance makes those who end tolerance gain strength. If you are balanced between those who want freedom and civil rights with those who want totalitarianism and the end of civil rights, you are with the last.
It is not okay to talk about politics in this forum, but this is too important that it will directly affect everyone's future to keep quiet about it. But I understand if moderation deletes our related posts or close this, the rules are the rules, but I needed it, thinking about the future of my grandchildren and the world we left.
