Android 14 cannot go full screen

After upgrading to Android 14（zui16）, the status bar cannot be hidden and is always displayed (which line of the red time floating window in the picture). Android 14 does not have this problem.
The problem of not being able to go full screen was reported before. It has been there for several months and has not been fixed.

@svivaldi Do you have a front facing camera on the Status Bar? If you do, then the app's user interface and content won't move to that area. If you don't, then it should.

In full screen, via browser feels better. 1. No bugs. 2. For mobile phones with front-facing cameras, the Status Bar can also display web content, so that the phone screen can display more web content.

Try toggling the status bar visibility setting off and on. After a restart it should be hidden.
I also checked a newer internal test version and there it seems to work better than in the Stable.

Vivaldi.6.8.3388.181_arm64-v8a.apk。

I also tried Vivaldi.6.9.3423.4_arm64-v8a.apk. The problem still exists. Settings can only determine whether the Status Bar displays content. Status Bar is always displayed.

@jane-n Compared with Status Bar, I think it is more important to solve the conflict between sliding full screen and accessibility ON. Because this problem has a great impact on the web page display area. When I use a tablet, I can accept this bug because the tablet screen is huge. But the mobile screen is small and the browser experience is not good

Hi, not the original poster but I have the same device and encountering the same issue. With the status bar set to hide in the settings, it does hide the bar, but just leaving the area blank doesn't free up the top bar area (like how the original poster posted).

I have downloaded the snapshot version and it still an issue there.

Same here, just black on the top area of the display around the camera position, instead of the status bar.

Im interested in a solution for my pixel 9. On TEMU in particular the app does render behind the cut out but the notification bar is still there, just transparent. Because of this i can not use the search bar in temu because it is at the very top of the screen.

I think something related to the top bar changed from 13 to 14. So some apps break even though they didn't break before. That said if there no way for the dev team to figure out what is the cause? After all there are apps that still full screen just fine even in android 14.
