Why does Vivaldi not sync regulary?

I found the script but I don't know the author and how the command chain work. I had one but this doesn't work anymore.
This is the Sync.js script:

Thank you very much, I copied the file to /resources/vivaldi not to user_files.
It would be good if the script developer add there user name to the scripts, much easier to find the page then.
I searched for sync button script but cant find it.

@mib2berlin Usually there’s a link back to the forum page in my scripts, page actions are the exception. When you search with sync page action command chain it’s the second hit.

I still have sync issues on my devices (Linux <--> Android). This is actually not rocket science and should have high priority to fix.

This is in the final stages of testing now. I expect fast and responsive sync to roll out soon, but I can’t promise an exact date. However, as a Scandinavian company, most of our employees have the entire month of July off for summer vacation. So, it won’t be this month.

thank you for your response, with the manual triggered sync, as suggested by others in this thread, I can wait a bit longer for the fix to be released.

However, just for the record, the automatic sync takes way longer than only two hours, as stated in this thread. I tested it on my devices, a change didn't get synced from Android to Linux in more than 16h. The manual trigger worked.

So I'm using the manual trigger as workaround and looking forward to the fix. Thank you!

For the first time, I have experienced this issue between iOS and MacOS. The sync settings for MacOS were up to date, but the tabs synced from Mac OS to iOS were last synced 7 hours ago.

I'm glad a fix is on its way though!

Is this really true? I keep seeing new features rolled out, but it would be even better to get a fix for sync...

I don't really care about a fancy new settings menu, I just want sync that actually works please.

Yes, it is. Faster, more responsive sync is in testing. I, for one, am testing it.

I can’t promise a date, but there has been steady progress made on this. This feature should be ready to go real soon. Unless something unexpected and really bad pops up, this should be ready for the next feature release.

This is probably my last opportunity to tease this upcoming feature …

In our internal test builds, it takes a second or two from opening a new page until it’s show in the Synced Tabs and Windows panel lists on your other synced devices. It takes a second or two from you change a note on one device until the change pops up in your other devices.

The new Sync system is rolling out in the Snapshot test builds now. We’re talking Sync within one-digit seconds instead of minutes and hours.

It’s only available on desktop right now, but the next round of mobile Snapshot builds should include the same fast Sync system. Unless something goes horribly wrong, the new Sync system should make it into the next major stable release.

Vivaldi 7.0 for Desktop and Mobile has the new Blazin’ Fast Sync.
