Memory Saver and Compact menus – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3329.7

I see this on both Linux (Ubuntu and Debian) and Windows (Win10).
I cleared my sync data and Vivaldi has been trying to 'initialise sync' ever since - constant timeouts for three hours.
In my case, it appears V appears to exchange sync data with V servers on start, and then asks for my decryption password. If I enter my password in Sync settings, it all appears to work correctly. It's like V is just forgetting the decryption password in my case.

I am on snapshot for about a week now, and I never could receive a token for Privacy Guard.
Is this not available in Austria maybe?
-
@ShalokShalom Are you on ARM Linux? The first snapshot with Privacy Guard mentioned that it wouldn't work on those builds for now.
@Ruarí Is that still the case? I haven't seen it be mentioned as a known issue for any subsequent snapshots.
-
@AltCode IIRC There is only support for Linux x64, Mac (both), Win x64, at present. (Meaning no Linux Arm, win32, win arm support)
-
@yngve Thanks for the response. But if that's the case, this should still be mentioned as a "known issue" for the snapshot blog posts, since the test is still ongoing.

I had mentioned Linux ARM not working. I had not mentioned Windows 32bit. In addition I forgot to add mention of Windows arm64 not being part of the Privacy Guard trial when these packages first appeared.
I have now updated the pages to better reflect the actual situation.

With Privacy Guard, my traffic goes through Frankfurt. It works flawlessly, and YouTube serves me German-targeted commercials. But I think a lot of people might be put off by this - receiving commercials in another language. Even if their only purpose is to be closed

When you mention the upper left menu are you referring to the Vivaldi menu. I did not see differences with a quick comparison; it is also harder to compare because you can't have both menus active at the same time. I am using Vivaldi in dark mode and I think you are using light mode which could account for differences in our observations?
Yes, so for example:
And:
If the difference in the first one (6.7) is something that I did, I'm unaware of what it is, but it's possible. The second is 6.6.

What's the difference between memory saving and hibernating tabs?

Glad Vivaldi has finally released the Windows ARM version. I guess it's safe to discontinue Windows 32bit and Linux ARM 32bit (as a typical user I would rather want Vivaldi to spend its QA resources to popular versions: Windows x86-64, ARM64, macOS Intel, macOS M, Linux x86-64, and Linux ARM64).
