@toriigate, see https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/477725-youtube-iframe-adblocker
In Vivaldi you don't need Greasyfork extension to use the script. Download the script (right click on the Install button, save as) in a folder (don't delete). Open the extension page in Vivaldi (Ctrl+Shift+E) in Developer Mode (upper right corner and drag the script on this page to install it.

Thanks for both the information and the installation tip

@toriigate, this script works very well, I use it using apart only the Vivaldi adblocker, but it has two small drawbacks, YT will not register the videos as viewed and the script does not work very well if you have YT in several tabs.t

@barbudo2005, anyway it's the same, if I remember the video I don't watch it, if I don't remember then it doesn't matter.

Browser with chromium will just die because the dev team lazyly use chromium.
Its a shame because Vivaldi have somes nice things and nice features, but, ad its a big no no, and with a little regret the browser will end in the trashbin.
After manifest v3 will only left firefox and Arc i guess. -
@rrrooouskljdhf, ARC also is Chromium, same as Vivaldi. Don't confuse the possibilities, M3 will be a problem for Chrome user, but not necessarly for Chromium user, only if it's a fork as is, Vivaldi isn't.

@barbudo2005 My guess for Vivaldi;
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Vivaldi] "ExtensionManifestV2Availability"=dword:00000002

The whole MV3 thing is a catastrophe for those of us who have been relying on various content blocking extensions to throttle web exploitation and privacy abuse.
This is a Windows registry change. What about all the other desktop platforms?

@DoctorG ?
Now I'm wondering why you folks keep tagging each other in the old-fashioned way rather than just replying or quoting the person's post that you're trying to attract the attention of.
Does that not work on this forum platform to notify the user or what?
I know users can set their notification settings to allow or block notificaitons for being tagged/replied to/etc.

@ImaginaryFreedom, sorry, DoctorG and myself are old fashion, but she put some links with explanations what ocurres and I added some more resources to this links, precisely to give you an answer to the problem. Using links, because there are long threads and articles, not very usefull to cite these here in this forum and too long to post an resumen.

I'm not complaining about the links (which I have already bookmarked) was just curious if there's something about this platform that requires that people manually tag people they are replying to.
I never liked this forum platform personally, but mostly for layout/aesthetic reasons. (And it makes it hard to easily see replies to your posts, the "notifications" link is kinda pathetic for that function, there should be a dedicated page for replies/tags in the profile, not just this puny ephemeral notification dropdown nonsense)
-
@ImaginaryFreedom, we tag the user or cite him, to make it clear who we are responding to, which in a longer thread would not always be obvious to whom it is directed. It could be an answer to a question from a few pages ago, which without quoting or tagging, would be left without context.

As you can see I'm following up to your reply and quoting you here which will automatically tag you.
Which you could have done with your followup, which is why it was a point of curiosity to me.
Have a good day
