Multiple picture-in-picture windows
-
@mlucky I don't get it. How does anyone watch two videos at once?
-
@Pesala My use case, when I'm using this feature in Firefox, is to simultaneously watch multiple streamers, and it's especially useful during group events. It's also particularly handy if you're keeping up with a developing story, you'll be able to keep up with every broadcast on one monitor. Having to compromise on just picking one streamer or news source just feels very unsatisfying granted you could always group stack and then use the tile feature but that's very janky so for those cases I usually swap to Firefox
-
@mlucky You don't need to stack the tabs; just tile them, which seems like a better solution than rearranging two or more PiP windows.
-
@PesalaI I implore you to try out the feature on Firefox and compare it to Tile to Grid; it's absolutely night and day. Not having to scroll up and down to find the perfect area that fits the video player is just so nice. Yes, you don't need to group stack tabs; that's just my personal preference, as it's very easy to simply close everything once I'm done watching or no longer need to watch.
-
This is a valid request, tiling tabs is not the same.
-
@ThirdGenerationAI I won't say anything as I support this feature request
-
Tiling tabs show multiple pages at some time, but when including all the content around the video and you cannot maximize video to fill one tile.
Multiple PIP will allow me to see just video in any size I want without any content around it. -

@Pesala I watch like 2 to 4 at once with multiple sports games and news channels on my ultra wide monitor.

+1
I also miss this feature as a Firefox user.
Are there any news about this feature? -
Vote for the first post if you haven't already done so. (Voting again will remove your vote).
-
I end up using this function a lot in Firefox, it would be great to have in Vivaldi, I wouldn't need to switch browsers every time I use the option.
-
Is there any news about this option coming ? I dream of this feature , but I can only find it in Firefox.

@JuniorSilva30
Hi, it looks this will not come anytime soon, the Vivaldi team tag the requests as:
NICE TO HAVE
PIPELINE > On the to do list
IN PROGRESS > The team is working on it
I fear the Chromium developer have to add this and it is out of the range of the Vivaldi developers, no Chromium browser support it at moment.Cheers, mib
-
We need multiple PIP with double click for full screen like Firefox has it!
-
@Cmko Almost 2025 and I'm still using Firefox for this feature too. Other than that I've pretty much switched to Vivaldi.
-
@cdenigris Me too. But I think Vivaldi team hates this feature.
-
@mib2berlin The Firefox team developed this feature in a few months. But other browsers, such as Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, Chrome, Edge, none of them bother to do this. What a shame!
-
This feature has been requested for over five years on various forums for various browsers, but no one has been willing to take on the challenge. To me, this is a sign of failure.
-
@jimmynewtron The sooner you code it and submit it, the sooner someone will add it to the browser.
If nobody is caring to do it, means it's not that important for most of people.
I for example don't care a dime for picture in picture at all, even less for multiple ones.
