@jorjives This is still a valid request IMO since it could be offered as an option. I honestly think that pinned tabs can be handled much better and couldn't find anything better than Firefox that can do this properly. Vivaldi still lacks proper functioning and is filled with bugs when it comes to the UI and tabs.

I love workspaces, it's how I was using Tabstacks just much cleaner and more reliable. But originally, when we had just tab stacks, we also had pinned tabs which would be my 'universal' tabs. No matter what stack I was actively using, I always had my pinned tabs as well.

Now with workspaces, pinned tabs are no longer universal.

I'd like an option to make a pinned tab universal, so I don't have to change workspaces or duplicate tabs for sites I need all the time. Maybe even having the option to drag tabs behind the workspaces dropdown (to the left of it) to indicate it's universal, allowing users to move tabs between the workspaces in a more physically-oriented fashion.

Anyway, I'd bet this is already on your list, but Universal Tabs/Universal Pinned Tabs! We need them!!! STAT!!!!

          @kantankoras Interesting idea.
          I find it useful.

Using Sidepanel would be ok, if extension would work in it, like passwordmanager.

For example, i have a timetracking webapp, where I have to newly log in every day. If I have to open bitwarden, search the password and copy&paste it everyday, than the sidepanel is not working for such webapps.

So workspace doesn't realy work well, at least for powerusers like me, if there is neither univeral pinned tabs nor working extensions in the sidebar.

Thats my two cents on the subject.

@kantankoras said in Make pinned tabs global and not per workspace:

^ this sounds plain awesome. Tabs left of workspace drop-down being global while tabs to the right of it would be workspace content.

This way the workspaces menu doesn't even move around when switching since left side would always remain the same. Lovely.

Also, if I Ctrl+Click a link (open in a new tab) on a globally pinned page, I'd like for that new tab to open in the currently active workspace.

It seems like what people are asking for a feature here is actually the bug I experience. I have multiple windows pinned din different workspaces. But once I close and reopen Vivaldi, all pinned tabs get moved into the main/global workspace.

Is that a bug or something one can configure?

I searched but couldn't find any option.

I agree! They should probably occupy the left side of the tab bar, maybe to the left of the workspaces drop down menu. Also maybe have a different color highlight. Would be nice to have a "superpin" like one user suggested to have global and "local" pinned tabs

It would be very useful to have the option in the configuration of making the global or local pins (by Workspaces). To differentiate the global pins, I suggest having a horizontal space just below the Workspaces switch. I show you an example.

@AltCode UPVOTE, I currently need to have the same web apps open in multiple workspaces. I'd like an option to share the same tab among multiple, or among all.

I would like to see this. I usually keep things like my emails and music in pinned tabs and it would be convenient to access these without having to change workspaces.

Yes! Upvote. It would also be great if there was an option to pin tabs inside groups.
