Add an option to override panel on browsing screen.
Sorry if you're hard to read my english, I'm studying english and not a native speaker.
Every time I open panel makes browsing screen small and that makes my browsing experience bad.
Because of my small screen and low resolution, Opening panel makes sites' contents small. So, what I want to request is making panel like firefox's addon popup, which does not occupy browsing screen (but overlaps) and closes when moving to another tab.

What I'm really missing is a way to fix Chrome's abysmal throttling of background tabs. I want a browser that doesn't do that. Firefox is set up that way by default and Opera has a flag to disable it. Please consider adding the same feature to Vivaldi.

Small request - when a URL is entered into the address bar and the suggestions drop down, let me hover over a suggestion and click Delete to remove it.

Would you mind improving the bookmarks, so that is more easy to sort the bookmarks in folders.

I'd like to see the ability to prevent search redirects.
Used to be that Google had a special sauce, in which they counted numbers of links to pages, to accomplish search rankings. At some point they simply began redirecting all clicks on search hits through their own servers, and keeping score.
Worse, they do the same with links within users's email at gmail.
I don't know that I need an onboard mail client, as a nearby thread proposes, as I'm pretty happy with gmail. But I would like the ability to stop these intrusive redirects in both gmail and searches. (I used DDG as my main search engine, but do use google occasionally, and for images. -

Are you talking about this Firefox feature?

Hello
I've seen many requests for speed dial (very useful btw.), but I'd like to add another one:
[ul]- ability to navigate between sped dial folders by using regular back/forward buttons/shortcuts (in regular history stack manner)
[/ul]
The lack of it is bugging me for some time (yes, I do have one mouse button for back action)
Thanks

No. The browser I have been using, Slimjet, actually circumvents the google redirect - at least on searches; not sure about gmail.

Please make bookmark filter as in Opera to show results in folders the bookmark belongs to. Now in Vivaldi filter results are displayed in one level list.
Thank you.

It would be very nice to have the following features:
• Concerning the Speed dial:
[ol]- Being able to easily set fixed custom thumbnails. Currently, I have to work around by directly editing the Bookmark file. Having the possibility to right click and select "Use a picture" might be an nice, easy-to-implement feature.
- Being able to apply such custom thumbnails to folders. As depicted on the picture, the used image could be paste on a folder icon.
- Having or allowing transparent thumbnails. Currently, when using a .png with transparent areas, the latter show the uniform color related to the them. It would be lovely to see the background image though the transparent areas, maybe blured for improved readability.
[/ol]
• Concerning the tabs:
[ol]* Wait a bit before updating the width of tabs when tabs are closed. Currently, when closing tabs, the width of the remaining ones is instantly updated. This can make that the previous one, instead of the next one, reach under the mouse cursor. When quickly closing many tabs using the middle mouse button, the user have to pay caution for not closing the previous tab instead of the next one. Typically, Google Chrome uses an easy solution to tackle the issue: a small delay before updating tabs width.[/ol]• Concerning the address bar:
[ol]* In most browser, using [Ctrl]+[Enter] instead of [Enter] allows to add ".com" to the typed text/address. This feature is lacking from Vivaldi.[/ol]

Would like to see Alt-d bring the focus to the address bar, which seems to be a longstanding convention.

You can create that shortcut if you like. Keyboard shortcuts are editable. In fact, in the Snapshot version I am running at the moment, that hotkey combo works in exactly that fashion. It focuses and highlights the contents of the address bar. (Pretty sure I edited that shortcut in this version of the browser, as the other three versions I have installed do not have it.)

Thanks. Somehow I missed that when I searched for "address" in the options. Working fine now.

i only sign up for that wish:
i wish the downloadmanager will have a feature so i can see how fast i download something

I wish for an option to have change the color of the loading screen.
Today when loading a new site, a white blank page is displayed while loading. When using the dark theme and an extension like Dark Reader to make web pages dark, the suddenly white screen is quite annoying to the eye.
