Spatnav is broken, can not select f.ex. a heading in my blog which spans over more than one line if zoomed the page.
Reported as VB-99170 "[Spatnav] Elements can not be focused with zoomed page"

@ian-coog: Try going into the theme editor, under settings there is slider for panel transparency. Move the slider up, and then down again to 0% transparency. For me this makes the panel non-transparent again.
The issue isn't the transparency, it's that the switch is always overlapping the web page now.
-
Well this is not good.
It seems I can no longer hide both the side panel toggle strip and hide the side panel tool bar.
I have always hidden all that stuff (and only acccessed floating panels via mouse gesture, after which the floating side panels (as well as the side panel tool bar) automatically hide again when inactive.
With this latest snapshot it seems you can hide one or the other. Not both.

I guess floating panels now really float - isn't that the point?
I admit I preferred panels the way they were... A second click on the Panels icon operated as the Panel Toggle, which made sense to me. (Floating the Panels Bar alone seems useless or just distracting...) But checking the Toggle option is Good Enough for now.
Of course, floating panels with transparency is a personal choice, a preference — so to speak. -
@durtro:
Do you have an email that you can attach to a bug so that I can try to reproduce?
Save the email with ctrl+s (or cmd+s on Mac). Open in a text editor and change any email or redact sensitive info if you'd like and attach it to https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/ -
Overlapping of vertical tabs with panel icons.
Impossible to make the vertical tabs wider in space. With floating panels, without floating panels its ok. F4-Toggle makes it overlap.
-
@gmg added the eml to an already existing bug: VB-83204 by replying to it. Didn't edit it since the most sensitive info would be my email.
That bug report dates from this thread:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/63674/mail-not-showing-body-text?page=1and is also related to email rendering. That thread refers a few problems I've seen with email, namely, missing attachments, duplication of sender address (since around September 2022)...
P.S. I tested the eml by importing it to both my stable and my snapshot using a local account and it renders fine in stable but not in the snapshot as expected.

What's with the bookmark favicons in bookmark panel with this snapshot?
I'm watching as Vivaldi slowly populates favicons for bookmarks. And for many it just now shows an "empty sheet" icon. And those "empty sheet" icons are refreshed/trying to load again when e.g. scrolling the bookmarks panel up & down (or opening & closing folders with bookmarks).
I already noticed that it seems that at least bookmarks with
?
char in the URL seems to always show the "empty sheet" icon (+ the refresh/reload action).Just horrible. I hope this change never finds its way to stable.
-
@Tealing We test Snapshots to find bugs and report them, exactly so they don't make it into Stable. We don't moan and complain when stuff breaks - if you want stability use Stable.
I can confirm that bookmarks with a
?
in the url have broken favicons in this snapshot. I cannot confirm with other bookmarks. Please read:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker

It also blocks icons in vertical tabs if you have the panel and tabs on the same side
Left side blocks fav icon/audio icon (so you can't mute tabs now)
Right side blocks closing of tabs

Bug on Youtube (or twitch) in fullscreen, found by error by fatfingering wrong key
- go to youtube/twitch
- open ANY video
- press F for fullscreen
- press D (spatial navigation must be enabled)
tab crashes with dead bird.
VB-99174 -
When you switch tabs, the current website moves from right to left for a few pixels.

VB-99174
I can confirm on Win10 x64. Note that this depends on Single Key Shortcuts being enabled, which is not the default. The regular Shift+Arrows do not crash the tab, they perform the regular YT back/forward and volume actions.
Also you didn't attach a crash dump as is routine when reporting crashing bugs, so I attached one for you
-
@Pathduck OK, I just replied sending a 7z with 8 crashdumps generated from this bug

In other news, the new mail filtering option is kind of neat, although I prefer the toggle buttons (and hope there will be toggles for labeled & flagged, and filtered at some point. The new filtering system might make it possible to filter by account, that's much harder to do with the toggle buttons.
Hardly anyone will use labels, flags, filters and folders in their workflow. It's possible to hide certain categories from the panel, so I suggest to hide the corresponding toggles (and set them to always show just so no email is always hidden) to allow keeping things uncluttered by showing only those elements that are actually used.

The Vivaldi icon for my Forum Search panel has disappeared.
I tried removing the panel, and adding it back, but it does not help.
