Is this a bug? (Speed Dial Icon thumbnails)

I want to use icons instead of web page thumbnails in my Speed Dial. This is both because I want smaller speed dials so more of the theme background image shows, and also because for some reason not all of the sites show a snapshot of the site, so I have to check the title to identify it. All of the sites show an icon though.

The problem is that when I close Vivaldi and then open it again later, or the next day, it goes back to the website snapshot, instead of the icons.

Is this a bug I need to report?

@fred8615 Only if you can reproduce it from a fresh profile..

The icons look blurry anyway. It would have been my choice too, but it doesn’t look good. Websites don’t provide favicons in a quality that would let Vivaldi enlarge them without becoming unpresentable. My current solution is using the »tiny« setting with the website pictures and displaying both the favicon and the title below.

Hi, I use this since it was implemented and it does not change icons on a Vivaldi restart.
Something is cleaning up your profile, any cleaning software in use?

@fred8615 Which icons? Happens on a specific thumb or all of them?
In the first case, maybe is corrupted; tried to remove the thumb and apply it again? (or using another format/source)

@luetage I already have the website snapshot thumbnails to the smallest size. So I don't want the icon only to be bigger anyway.

If this is a profile problem, I'll just live with then.

@fred8615 uncheck the box. restart the browser. tick the box again.

@ayhangur Spoke too soon. When I opened Vivaldi this morning it went back to thumbnails, and no matter how many times I tried the fix again, it would go back to thumbnails upon restart.

@fred8615 try this: first set another folder as the startpage folder, then revert to the old one.

@fred8615 Select another folder as the start page bookmarks. Then again select your bookmarks folder that you normally use.

@ayhangur Just realized today that I never reported on how this worked. It didn't.

I did find out that no matter what size setting I use, it will always go back to "Scale to fit columns."

@fred8615 There is something corrupted about your profile, or some other software interfering. There is no way to make a clean install of Vivaldi behave this way.

Solved!

Either the update just before 6.1, or 6.1 itself fixed the problem. I've been trying using icons after each update, in case one of them would fix it, and lo and behold it finally did.

@fred8615 yeah, these kind of minor glitches/corruptions have good chances to be corrected between builds without going through a painful profile reset
