Picking wallpaper from speed dial doesn't work?
I have installed my two themes and i can't pick them both from speed dial if i do then one
disappears. https://themes.vivaldi.net/users/iPristy

I don't understand this bug, should speed dial wallpaper just switch background or theme?
Please someone report it.

I am not familiar with the concept of "picking" a theme "from speed dial."

What exactly are you doing, what did you expect to occur, and what actually did occur?

@luetage I believe the problem is that when changing the background from the Start Page "Quick Settings", it changes the theme background but also completely removes the theme's orginal background from the selection.

So if a user wants the original background back, the only way to restore it is to delete the theme and redownload it.

I guess it could be seen as a bug, or at least an unfortunate way of handling things. Maybe it should instead keep the original background so it can be selected again.

For me personally, I just use one theme and I'm not going to report it, because honestly - I don't care enough about it

In Vivaldi settings, I have the following setting activated: "Appearance -> Status Bar -> Status Info Overlay"

In regard to this, I noticed in the current snapshot that when hovering over links with the mouse, the status info overlay is not always displayed correctly. Sometimes, the grey background is missing, so that the writing/URL is barely readable. See screenshots.

@Pathduck That’s the same for changing a background in a theme in settings, it removes the background too. Every theme can have exactly one background, when it is replaced with a background from your system or with a background from another theme, it isn’t available anymore. That’s not a bug, but intended. I never liked it either, but it would be a feature request making backgrounds stick to a theme. Probably complicates matters.

@luetage: If i pick one than both themes have the same wallpaper and one just disappears from speed dial.

@iPristy Yes, functions as intended. Write a feature request requesting a change of this behavior. Or stop changing the background of your theme directly, instead clone the theme and change the background in this new theme.

@luetage: They fixed VB-85062 but now with custom theme is worse. Maybe i will try older version before VB-85062, i think that are related.

In settings themes change wallpaper and it's same, why is that?

Hi, please don´t downgrade Vivaldi, you get possile other issues and nobody can reproduce it.
Open a new thread about hhis "new" issue, it´s better to follow.

I think I spotted a regression with search suggestions.
Steps to reproduce:

Have IMDb as a search engine (im nickname, http://www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_fn&q=%s&s=all search URL, https://duckduckgo.com/ac/?q=%s&type=list suggest URL).
Enter im ince in the address field.
When inception pops up as a suggestion, select it with the arrow keys and hit Enter.

Expected result: I'm redirected to an IMDb search for "inception".
Actual result: I'm redirected to an IMDb search for "ince".

Notes: seems like clicking on a search suggestion instead of navigating to it with the arrows is fine - and what's weird is that from then on navigating with the arrows is fine too (but not if you try the arrows at first).

@killchain Yeah I get that one as well as lots of other strange issues with selecting suggestions with arrow keys or Tab.

Sometimes it just ends up on a completely different page from bookmarks...

New behavior with the typed-URL drop-down list in the address field:

When deleting an item on the list by clicking the X at the right side, the drop-down list no longer refreshes to show the list without the newly deleted item.

To see the newly edited list, I have to click outside the list to close it, and then click the downward-pointing triangle again to re-display the list.

It's not a "problem" for me, I'm sure I can get used to it. Just thought I would see if anybody else sees it or has a workaround.

Hello, I'm a new user of Vivaldi. It seems I met a bug about workspace function.

I have tried 3 different versions of install packages (version in this post, the offical 5.7 one and a version from this page: https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/fixes-and-improvements-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-2914-3/).

I'm trying to find the workspace iron and all related functions. But in mu current browser (version as in this post), I can only find workspace related content in customized mouse and qiuck commands sections in the settings.

It's really confusing since I have seen some screenshots in this forum showed the iron and how this workspace working which is just as what I expected. Please help me a little here. Thanks a lot.

Workspaces are experimental and you have to enable it first.

I am not sure if you have to restart Vivaldi to finally enable it.
You may have to set it in the Vivaldi settings, too.
